Game Recaps

- Nashville Predators v. Tampa Bay Lightning – 530p ET
- In Tampa Bay the Lightning would play host to the Nashville Predators to open up the 2023-24 NHL season, and in the first period Nikita Kucherov would strike for the first goal of the season to give the Bolts the 1-0 lead. In the second period the Preds would strike back as Ryan O’Reilly would record his first career goal as a Predator to tie the game at one. Then in the third period Juuso Parssinen would strike 11 seconds into the period to give the Preds the 2-1 lead. The goal would also feature Filip Forsberg’s second assist of the game. But, the Lightning would tie things back up at two as Nick Paul would score on the powerplay. Then less than a minute later Brandon Hagel would be awarded a penalty shot and he would make it count as he would give the Lightning the 3-2 lead, but Tomas Novak would strike on the powerplay to tie the game at three for the Predators. However, Paul would net his second powerplay goal, and Kucherov would get the empty netter to get his second of the game to give the Lightning the 5-3 victory over the Predators.

- Chicago Blackhawks v. Pittsburgh Penguins – 8p ET
- Then in Pittsburgh the Penguins would open their season by hosting the Chicago Blackhawks as Connor Bedard would make his highly anticipated debut in what would be a new beginning for the Blackhawks as he faced off with his idol Sidney Crosby. In the first period Bryan Rust would open up the scoring for the Pens to take the 1-0 lead. In the second period Crosby would strike to grow the Pens lead to two, but Ryan Donato would score his first as a Blackhawk to get them back within one. The Donato tally would give Bedard his first career NHL point as he would get the secondary assist on the goal. Then in the third period Cole Guttman would score to tie the game at two for the Blackhawks, and late in regulation Jason Dickinson score and Nick Foligno would get the empty netter for his first as a Blackhawk to give the Blackhawks the 4-2 victory over the Penguins.

- Seattle Kraken v. Vegas Golden Knights – 1030p ET
- It would be a new beginning for the Vegas Golden Knights as they would defeat the Seattle Kraken 4-1 on their Banner Raising Night.
