Edmonton Oilers v. Florida Panthers – 8p ET – Game 6
- In a pivotal Game 6 in Florida, the Edmonton Oilers look to stay alive and force a Game 7, but the Panthers look to clinch things to earn their second consecutive Stanley Cup, and in the first period Sam Reinhart would strike early to give the Panthers the 1-0 lead. Then with 47 seconds left in the period, Matthew Tkachuk scored to grow the Panthers lead to two. In the second period, Reinhart would deflect the puck into the net for his second of the game to give the Panthers the commanding 3-0 lead. Then in the third period, a desperate move by the Oilers costs them as Reinhart scores on the empty net to complete the hat trick with 6:34 remaining in regulation, and then with 5:05 remaining in regulation Reinhart with another empty netter to give the Panthers the 5-0 lead. Vasily Podkolzin would score for the Oilers, but the Panthers would take Game 6 with the 5-1 victory over the Oilers to win the series 4-2 and claim their second consecutive Stanley Cup.
Panthers forward Sam Bennett was named the winner of the Conn Smythe Trophy.
