- The National Hockey League and the National Hockey League Players Associcaiton announced that Tampa Bay F Nikita Kucherov won his second Ted Lindsay award. Kucherov led the league in points, assists, primary assists and player points.
- The Pittsburgh Penguins announced that they have hired Dan Muse as their new Head Coach. Muse is the 23rd head coach in Penguins franchise history.
- The Colorado Avalance and F Brock Nelson have come to terms on a three year contract extension with a $7.5M AAV.

Florida Panthers v. Edmonton Oilers – 8p ET – Game 1
- In Edmonton, the Panthers and Oilers faceoff for Lord Stanley. In the first, Leon Draisaitl scores his eighth goal of the postseason just 1:06 into the period to give Edmonton the 1-0 lead. Florida then ties the game when Sam Bennett scores his 11th goal of the postseason. Brad Marchand then goes on to net a power play goal, his fifth goal of the postseason, to put the Panthers up 2-1. In the second period, Sam Bennett scored his second of the night at to put the Panthers up two but then Viktor Arvidsson scored his second goal of the postseason to bring the Oilers within a goal at 3:17. In the third, Mattias Ekholm ties up the game with his first goal of the postseason at the 6:33 mark. In the overtime session, Leon Draisaitl scored the game winner, his second goal of the night, on a power play with 31 seconds left to give the Oilers the 4-3 win as they take Game 1.
