In Edmonton the Oilers would play host to the St. Louis Blues, and in the first period Robert Thomas and Pavel Buchnevich would strike to give the Blues the 2-0 lead, but Zach Hyman would score to get the Oilers on the board and back within one. In the second period Hyman would net his second of the game to tie the game at two for the Oilers. Washington Capitals v. Detroit Red Wings – 7p ET
In Detroit the Red Wings would play host to the Washington Capitals, and in the first period the Wings would get goals from Shayne Gostisbehere and Lucas Raymond to give them the 2-0 lead. In the second period Hendrix Lapierre would score to get the Caps back within one, but Joe Veleno would score to reclaim the two goal lead for the Wings. Before the period would end Michael Sgarbossa would score for the Caps while Gostisbehere would net his second of the game and JT Compber would score to give the Wings the 5-2 lead. Then in the third period Max Pacioretty would score for the Caps, but Robby Fabbri, Alex DeBrincat, and Dylan Larkin would score to give the Red Wings the 8-3 victory over the Capitals.
In Florida the Panthers would face off with the Buffalo Sabres, and in the first period Dylan Cozens would score for the Sabres to open the scoring, but Sam Bennett and Matthew Tkachuk would score to give the Panthers the 2-1 lead. Then after a scoreless second period Tage Thompson would strike for the Sabres, but a goal from Brandon Montour would give the Panthers the 3-2 victory over the Sabres.
In Montreal the Arizona Coyotes would come to town to face off with the Canadiens, and in the first period Joel Armia would score to give the Habs the 1-0 lead. In the second period Jordan Harris would score to grow the Habs lead to two, but Alex Kerfoot would score to get the Yotes back within one. Then in the third period Nick Bjugstad would score for the Yotes, but goals from Tanner Pearson and Nick Suzuki would give the Canadiens the 4-2 victory over the Coyotes.

Vegas Golden Knights v. Toronto Maple Leafs – 7p ET
In Toronto the Maple Leafs would go to battle with the Vegas Golden Knights, and after a scoreless first period Tyler Bertuzzi would score for the Leafs, but goals from Ivan Barbashev, Mason Morelli, and William Karlsson would give the Knights the 3-1 lead. Then in the third period Ryan Reaves would strike for the Leafs, but Jonathan Marchessault would score a pair of goals and Nicolas Roy would score to give the Golden Knights the 6-2 victory over the Maple Leafs to earn their 300th Regular Season victory in franchise history.
In Minnesota the Carolina Hurricanes would visit the Wild, and in the first period Jordan Staal would score for the Canes, but goals from Connor Dewar and Jonas Brodin would give the Wild the 2-1 lead. In the second period Andrei Svechnikov would score to tie the game at two for the Canes. Then in the third period Stefan Noesen would score to give the Hurricanes the 3-2 victory over the Wild.
In Nashville the Predators would go to battle with the visiting Ottawa Senators, and in the first period Michael McCarron and Roman Josi would score for the Preds for the 2-0 lead, but Drake Batherson would net his 20th of the season to get the Sens back within one. In the second period Josi would net his second of the game to reclaim the two goal lead for the Preds. Then in the third period Gustav Nyquist would score to give the Predators the 4-1 victory over the Senators.
In Winnipeg the St. Louis Blues would come to town to take on the Jets, and in the first period Pavel Buchnevich would score for the Blues, but goals from Sen Monahan, Brenden Dillon, and Kyle Connor would give the Jets the 3-1 lead. In the second period Brandon Saad would score for the Blues to get back within one. Then in the third period Alex Iafallo would score to give the Jets the 4-2 victory over the Blues.
The NHL and NHLPA announced that Colorado Avalanche forward Valeri Nichushkin has been cleared by the Player Assistance Program to resume practicing with the team.

Ottawa Senators v. Washington Capitals – 7p ET
In Washington, the Capitals took on the Senators and in the first Aliaksei Protas scored his fifth to put Washington up 1-0. Then, John Carlson scored a power play goal to put the Caps up 2-0 but then Ottawa got on the board when Drake Batherson scored his 19th of the year. Shane Pinto then scored his fifth of the year to even the score but Max Pacioretty scored a power play goal to give Washington the 3-2 lead. Then, Beck Malenstyn score his sixth of the year as the Capitals went back up two. In the second, Brady Tkachuk scored his 26th to bring the Sens within a goal once more but Hendrix Lapierre scored a pair of goals as the Capitals went on to get the 6-3 win over the Senators following a scoreless third period.
In Dallas, the Stars took on the Islanders and in the first Ryan Pulock scored his fourth to put New York up 1-0. In the second, Matt Duchene scored his 23rd of the year on the power play to put Dallas on the board but then Kyle MacLean scored his second of the year to give the Isles the lead once more. Then, Logan Stankoven scored his first of the year as Dallas tied the game once more. After a scoreless third, Bo Horvat scores the game winner as the Islanders down the Stars 3-2.
Today the National Hockey League announced their Three Stars of the Week for the week of February 19th through 25th.
First Star – Kirill Kaprizov (LW – MIN)
Kirill Kaprizov would record six goals and six assists for twelve points in four games played for the Minnesota Wild. Kaprizov would start off his week with three goals and three assists in a wild (pun intended) 10-7 victory over Vancouver on Feb. 19th. He would then record a goal and an assist in a 6-3 loss to Winnipeg on Feb. 20th, and on Feb. 23rd Kaprizov would record an assist in a 4-2 victory over Edmonton. Then to close out the week, Kaprizov would score two goals and record an assist in a 5-2 victory over Seattle. on Feb. 24th.

Second Star – Mitch Marner (RW – TOR)
Mitch Marner would record a goal and nine assists for 10 points in four games played for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Marner would open the week with three assists in back to back games as the Leafs would defeat St. Louis 4-2 on Feb. 19, and a 6-3 victory over Arizona on Feb. 21st. Marner would record two more assists in a 7-3 victory over Vegas on Feb. 22nd, and then to close out the week on Feb. 24th, he would record a goal and an assist in a 4-3 victory over Colorado.

Third Star – Igor Shesterkin (G – NYR)
Igor Shesterkin would go a perfect 3-0-0 with a 1.00 goals against average and a .975 save percentage in three games played for the New York Rangers. Shesterkin would open up his week with 41 saves in a 3-1 victory over Dallas on Feb. 20th, and on Feb. 22nd he would make 39 saves in a 5-1 victory over New Jersey. Then to close out the week, Shesterkin would make 39 saves in a 2-1 victory over Philadelphia on Feb. 24th.

Tampa Bay Lightning v. New Jersey Devils – 1p ET
In New Jersey, the Devils hosted the Lighting and after a scoreless first Tampa took the 1-0 lead when Victor Hedman scored his 10th of the year and then the Bolts made it a 2-0 lead with Brayden Point’s 30th of the year. New Jersey then got on the baord with a power play goal from Tyler Toffoli, his 25th of the year. In the third, Brandon Hagel scored his 22nd of the year to give Tampa Bay the two goal lead back and then Nikita Kucherov scored an empty net goal, his 38th, as the Lightning earned the 4-1 win over the Devils.
Philadelphia Flyers v. Pittsburgh Penguins – 3:30p ET
In the Steel City, the Keystone State rivalry resumed with the Penguins hosting the Flyers. In the first Philadelphia took the 1-0 lead when Scott Laughton scored his eighth of the year and then Sidney Crosby’s 32nd of the year made it a 1-1 game. Bryan Rust then scored his 17th of the year to put Pittsburgh in the lead. In the second, Tyson Foerster scored his 12th of the year to tie the game for the Flyers and then the Pens re-took the lead with Bryan Rust’s 18th goal on the power play. Then, Emil Bemstrom scored a power play goal of his own to make it a 4-2 Pittsburgh lead. Travis Sanheim then scored his seventh of the year to bring Philly within a goal and then a shorthanded goal from Scott Laughton tied the game for Philadelphia. In the third, Drew O’Connor scored his ninth of the year to give Pittsburgh the 5-4 lead and then Rickard Rakell scored his sixth to make it a 6-4 Pens lead. Cam York then scored his seventh of the year to bring Philadelphia within a goal but Kris Letang scored his seventh of the year to put the Pens back up two. Tyson Foerster scored his second of the contest on the power play but the Penguins held on to get the 7-6 win over the Flyers.
In Buffalo, the Sabres hosted the Hurricanes and in the first Carolina took the 1-0 lead when Tony DeAngelo scored his third of the year. In the second, Buffalo tied the game with a power play goal from Jeff Skinner. In the third, Martin Necas scored his 18th on the power play to put the Canes up 2-1 and then Owen Power scored his third of the year to tie the game. Following the scoreless overtime, Casey Mittelstadt scored the lone goal in the shootout as the Sabres got the 3-2 win over the Hurricanes.
In a night where Chris Chelios had his number retired as well as the return of Patrick Kane to Chicago, the Blackhawks hosted the Red Wings. In the first, Detroit took the 1-0 lead when Daniel Sprong scored his 16th of the year. IN the second, MacKenzie Entwistle scored his third to put Chicago on the board and then Nick Foligno scored his 14th of the year to make it a 2-1 ‘Hawks lead. In the third, Alex DeBrincat scored his 22nd of the year to make it a 2-2 contest. In overtime, Patrick Kane scored the game winner, his 12th of the year, to give the Red Wings the 3-2 win over the Blackhawks.
In Columbus, the Blue Jackets hosted the Rangers and in the first Dmitri Voronkov scored his 16th on the year on the power play to put Columbus up 1-0 but then Artemi Panarin scored his 33rd of the year to tie the game for New York. In the second, the Blue Jackets took the 2-1 win with Kirill Marchenko’s 17th of the year but then the Blueshirts tied it up once more when Adam Edstrom netted his second of the year. Jack Roslovic then scored his fourth of the year to put Columbus up 3-2 and then Ivan Provorov scored his fifth as the Blue Jackets broke the Rangers 10 game win streak to get the 4-2 win.
In Winnipeg, the Jets hosted the Coyotes and in the first Mark Scheifele scored his 17th to put Winnipeg up 1-0 but then Nick Schmaltz scored a power play goal to put Arizona on the board. Then, Kyle Connor scored his 22nd of the year on the power play to put Winnipeg up 2-1 and then Gabriel Vilardi scored a power play goal of his own to make it a 3-1 Jets lead. In the second, Matias Maccelli scored his 10th of the year to bring the ‘Yotes within a goal. In the third, Nick Schmaltz scored his 16th to make it a 3-3 contest. In the overtime session, Kyle Connor scored his second of the night as the Jets got the 4-3 win over the Coyotes.
In Anaheim, the Ducks hosted the Predators and after a scoreless first Roman Josi scored his 12th of the year to put Nashville up 1-0. Isac Lundestrom then scored his third to make it a 1-1 game. In the third, Nashville took the 2-1 lead when Filip Forsberg scored his 28th of the year and then Michael McCarron scored his eighth of the year to put the Preds up 3-1. Then, Brett Leason scored his seventh of the year to bring Anaheim within a goal but Gustav Nyqvist scored an empty net goal as the Predators earned the 4-2 win over the Ducks.

To kick off Hockey Day in America, the Detroit Red Wings would play host to the St. Louis Blues, and in the first period Patrick Kane, Michael Rasmussen, Robby Fabbri, and Alex DeBrincat would score to give the Wings the commanding 4-0 lead. Then in the second period Zack Bolduc would net his first of the season for the Blues to get on the board, but JT Compher would score and DeBrincat would net his second of the game to give the Red Wings the 6-1 victory over the Blues.
In New Jersey the Devils would take on the Montreal Canadiens in an afternoon matinee, and after a scoreless first period both teams would trade goals as Brendan Gallagher and Nick Suzuki would strike for the Habs while Timo Meier and Ondrej Palat would score for the Devils for the 2-2 tie. Then in the third period Suzuki would net his second of the game for the Habs, but goals from Nico Hischier and Jesper Bratt would give the Devils the 4-3 victory over the Canadiens.
On Long Island the Tampa Bay Lightning would come to town to take on the New York Islanders, and in the first period Nick Paul and Nikita Kucherov would score to give the Bolts the 2-0 lead. In the second period Brayden Point would score on the powerplay to grow the Bolts lead to three. Then in the third period Anders Lee and Brock Nelson would score for the Isles to get them back within one, but Luke Glendening would score for the Lightning to take the 4-2 victory over the Islanders.

In the extra frame Gustav Forsling would score to give the Panthers the 3-2 overtime victory over the Capitals.
In Colorado the Toronto Maple Leafs would come to town to take on the Avalanche, and in the first period Artturi Lehkonen and Andrew Cogliano would score for the Avs to take the 2-0 lead, but Tyler Bertuzzi would score to get the Leafs back within one. In the second period Bertuzzi would net his second of the game and Mitch Marner would score to give the Leafs the 3-2 lead. Then in the third period Mikko Rantanen would score to tie the game at three for the Avs, but Bertuzzie would strike once again to complete the hat trick and give the Maple Leafs the 4-3 victory over the Avalanche.
In Ottawa for Hockey Night in Canada the Senators would battle the Vegas Golden Knights, and in the first period Jonathan Marchessault would score to give the Knights the 1-0 lead. In the second period Chandler Stephenson would score to grow the Knights lead to two, but goals from Thomas Chabot and Drake Batherson would tie the game at two for the Sens. Then in the third period Josh Norris would score for the Sens, but Stephenson’s second of the game would tie the game at three for the Knights and send the game to overtime. After a scoreless extra five minutes of hockey, it would be Tim Stuetzle with the winner to give the Senators the 4-3 shootout victory over the Golden Knights.
In Vancouver the Canucks would take on the Boston Bruins, and after a scoreless first period Jesper Boqvist and Danton Heinen would score to give the B’s the 2-0 lead. Then in the third period Brock Boeser and Filip Hronek would score for the Canucks to tie the game at two to force overtime. In the extra frame Boeser would net his second of the game to complete the comeback for the Canucks to defeat the Bruins 3-2.
In Carolina the Dallas Stars would visit the Hurricanes, and in the first period Jason Robertson would score to give the Stars the 1-0 lead. In the second period Sebastian Aho would score to tie the game at one for the Canes, but Wyatt Johnston would score to give the Stars the lead again. Then it would be a scoreless third period as the Stars would hold on to defeat the Hurricanes 2-1.

Florida Panthers v. Carolina Hurricanes – 7p ET
In Raleigh, the Hurricanes welcomed the Panthers and after a scoreless first and second, Sebastian Aho scored his 21st of the year late in the third as the Hurricanes got the 1-0 win over the Panthers.
In Detroit, the Red Wings welcomed the Avalanche back to the Motor City and after a scorless first, Colorado took the 1-0 lead when Nathan MacKinnon scored his 34th of the year. In the third, Detroit tied the game with a power play goal from Dylan Larkin. In the overtime session, Patrick Kane scored the game winner to give the Red Wings the 2-1 win over the Avalanche.
In the Garden State, the Devils hosted the Rangers and in the first New York took the 1-0 lead with a power play goal from Mika Zibanejad and then Alexis Lafrenière scored his 15th of the year to put the Blueshirts up 2-0. In the second, New York took the 3-0 lead as Chris Kreider netted his 29th of the year and then Alexis Lafrenière went on to score his second of the night to make it a 4-0 Ranger lead. In the third, Vincent Trocheck scored his 20th of the year to make it a 5-0 New York lead and then New Jersey finally got on the board when Jack Hughes scored his 18th of the year. However, the Rangers stood pat and defeated the Devils 5-1.
In Ottawa, the Senators hosted the Stars and in the first Ottawa took the 1-0 lead when Josh Norris scored his 14th of the year but then Dallas tied the game when Joe Pavelski scored his 20th of the year. In the second, Josh Norris scored his second of the night to give the Sens the 2-1 lead and then Thomas Chabot scored his fourth of the year to put Ottawa up two. Then, Shane Pinto scored his fourth on the power play, and following a scoreless third, the Senators held on to down the Stars 4-1.
