    • The NHL Player’s Association announced that they are filing an appeal on behalf of Detroit Red Wings forward David Perron.
      • Perron was suspended for six games for cross checking Ottawa Senators defenseman Artem Zub.

    • After their loss to the Detroit Red Wings, the St. Louis Blues relieved Craig Berube of his duties as head coach.
      • The Blues would name Drew Bannister the new interim head coach.

    Toronto Maple Leafs v. New York Rangers – 7p ET

    • At Madison Square Garden we would be treated to an Original Six matchup as the New York Rangers would play host to the Toronto Maple Leafs, and in the first period Blake Wheeler would score for the Rangers, but Auston Matthews 20th of the season and goals from Conor Timmins, Calle Jarnkrok, and Mitch Marner would give the Leafs the 4-1 lead. In the second period Mika Zibanejad would score and Wheeler would net his second of the game to get the Rangers back within one. Then in the third period Marner and Matthews would both net their second of the game, and David Kampf would score to give the Maple Leafs the 7-3 victory over the Rangers.

    Carolina Hurricanes v. Ottawa Senators – 7p ET

    • In Ottawa the Senators would play host to the Carolina Hurricanes, and in the first period Josh Norris would open the scoring for the Sens, but Martin Necas would score to tie the game at one for the Canes. Then in the second period Sebastian Aho would net a pair of goals and Seth Jarvis would score to give the Hurricanes the 4-1 victory over the Senators.

    Arizona Coyotes v. Pittsburgh Penguins – 7p ET

    • In Pittsburgh the Penguins would take on the Arizona Coyotes, and in the first period Jake Guentzel and Jeff Carter would score for the Pens while Lawson Crouse and Matias Maccelli would score for the Yotes for the 2-2 tie. Then after a scoreless second period both Carter and Guentzel would net their second of the game to give the Penguins the 4-2 victory over the Coyotes.

    Detroit Red Wings v. St. Louis Blues – 730p ET

    • In St. Louis the Blues would reignite their old rivalry with the Detroit Red Wings, and in the first period Brandon Saad would open the scoring for the Blues, but goals from Jake Walman and Jonatan Berggren would give the Wings the 2-1 lead. In the second period Moritz Seider would score for the Wings, but a pair of goals from Kevin Hayes and a tally from Marco Scandella would give the Blues the 4-3 lead. Then in the third period Lucas Raymond, Robby Fabbri, and Michael Rasmussen would score to give the Red Wings the 6-4 victory over the Blues.

    Philadelphia Flyers v. Nashville Predators – 8p ET

    • In Nashville the Philadelphia Flyers would come to town to take on the Predators, and in the first period Gustav Nyquist would score to give the Preds the 1-0 lead. In the second period Michael McCarron would score to grow the Preds lead to two, but Sean Couturier would score to get the Flyers back within one. Then in the third period Travis Sanheim would score to tie the game at two for the Flyers to force overtime. In the extra frame Filip Forsberg would score 18 seconds in to give the Predators the 3-2 victory over the Flyers.

      • Tomas Hertl (SJ) and Sam Reinhart (FLA) would round out the rest of the Three Stars.
    • NHL Stars of the Week – Kucherov Nabs Top Honors

    • The NHL Department of Player Safety announced that they have suspended Columbus Blue Jacket defenseman Erik Gudbranson.
      • Gudbranson was suspended for one game for violating Rule 46.2 (Aggressor) during an altercation with Florida Panthers forward Nick Cousins on Sunday night.
      • Gudbranson will forfeit $20,833.33 based on his average annual salary per the CBA.

    • DoPS also announced that they have suspended Detroit Red Wings forward David Perron.
      • Perron would be suspended six games for cross-checking Ottawa Senators defenseman Artem Zub on Saturday night.
      • Perron will forfeit $148,437.48 based on his average annual salary per the CBA.

    • In the PWHL Montreal would sign forward Gabrielle David to a one year deal.

    • In Buffalo, the Sabres welcomed the Coyotes and in the first Kyle Okposo scored his fifth of the year to put Buffalo up 1-0. In the second, Arizona tied the game when Michael Kesselring scored his first career NHL goal but then Buffalo re-took the lead following Eric Robinson’s second of the year. Then, Buffalo got a pair when Peyton Krebs scored his second and JJ Peterka got his 12th.     • In Long Island, the Islanders hosted the Maple Leafs and in the first Toronto took the 1-0 lead when Auston Matthews scored a power play goal, his 19th on the year, but then the Isles got a pair when Brock Nelson and Casey Cizikas scored. In the third, Kyle Palmieri scored his eighth of the year to put New York up a pair but then John Tavares scored his eighth to bring Toronto within a goal. In the third, Morgan Rielly got his fourth of the year to tie the game for the Leafs. In overtime, Bo Horvat scored the game winner as the Islanders downed the Maple Leafs 4-3.

    Detroit Red Wings v. Dallas Stars – 8p ET

    • In the Lone Star State, the Stars hosted the Red Wings and in the first Detroit took the 1-0 lead when Daniel Sprong got his seventh of the year bu then Dallas got a pair when Miro Heiskanen scored on the power play and then Esa Lindell scored his second. In the second, Jason Robertson scored his ninth to put Dallas up two and then Matt Duchene scored his seventh to give the Stars the 4-1 lead. Then, Jonatan Berggren got his first of the year to bring the Wings within two. In the third, Joe Veleno’s seventh on a Detroit power play brought the Wings within a goal but then a power play goal from Joe Pavelski gave Dallas the two goal lead back with a power play goal of his own. Then, an empty netter from Miro Heiskanen, his second goal of the night, gave the Stars the 6-3 win over the Red Wings.

    NHL Stars of the Week – Kucherov Nabs Top Honors

    Today the National Hockey League announced their Three Stars of the Week for the week of December 4th through 10th.

    First Star – Nikita Kucherov (RW – TB)

    • Nikita Kucherov would record four goals and three assists for seven points in four games played for the Tampa Bay Lightning, and to open up the week he would record a goal and an assist in 4-0 victory over Dallas on Dec. 4th. Then on Dec. 6th against Pittsburgh he would also record a goal and an assist in a 3-1 victory, but on Dec. 7th against Nashville he would be held off the scoresheet in a 5-1 loss. To close out the week Kucherov would record two goals and an assist in a 4-3 victory over Seattle on Dec. 9th.

    Second Star – Tomas Hertl (C – SJ)

    • Tomas Hertl would lead the League with five goals and would also record an assist for six points in three games for the San Jose Sharks. Hertl would open his week with his sixth career hat trick to defeat the New York Islanders 5-4 in overtime on Dec. 5th. Then on Dec. 7th in a 6-5 overtime victory over Detroit he would record two more goals, and then to close out his week Hertl would record an assist in a 5-4 shootout loss to Vegas on Dec. 10th.

    Third Star – Sam Reinhart (C – FLA)

    • Sam Reinhart, earning his third Star of the Week honor this season, would record a goal and a League leading seven assists for eight points in three games played for the Florida Panthers. Reinhart would open up the week with a goal and two assists in a 5-4 victory over Dallas on Dec, 6th, and then on Dec. 8th against Pittsburgh he would record an assist in a 3-1 victory. Then to close out the week Reinhart would record four assists in a 5-2 victory over Columbus on De. 10th.

    Florida Panthers v. Columbus Blue Jackets – 1p ET

    • In Columbus, the Blue Jackets hosted the Panthers in a matinee match-up. In the first, Florida took the 1-0 lead when Gustav Forsling got his third of the year but then Columbus tied it up when Yegor Chinakhov netted his sixth of the year. Then, a goal from Carter Verhaeghe put the Panthers back up a goal. After a scoreless second, Aleksander Barkov scored a power play goal to put Florida up two but then Dmitri Voronkov scored his sixth to bring the Blue Jackets within a goal. Then, a pair of empty net goals from Matthew Tkachuk and Eetu Luostarinen gave the Panthers the 5-2 win over the Blue Jackets.

    New Jersey Devils v. Edmonton Oilers – 4p ET

    • In Edmonton, the Oilers played host against the Devils for the lone time this season. In the first, Edmonton took the 1-0 lead when Derek Ryan scored his third of the year. In the second, a power play goal form Evan Bouchard put the Oilers up two. Then, in the third period, Connor McDavid scored his 10th to give Edmonton the 3-0 lead but then New Jersey got on the board when Jesper Bratt scored his 12th of the year. Then, an empty netter from Evander Kane gave the Oilers the 4-1 win over the Devils.

    Washington Capitals v. Chicago Blackhawks – 7p ET

    • In the Windy City, the Blackhawks welcomed the Capitals. After a scoreless first, Philipp Kurashev’s sixth of the year gave Chicago the 1-0 lead but then Washington scored three when Anthona Mantha, Dylan Strome, and Nic Dowd all scored. Then, in the third, Nic Dowd scored his second to give the Caps the three goal lead but then Connor Murphy scored his first of the year. However, the Capitals would leave Chicago with the 4-2 win over the Blackhawks.

    Nashville Predators v. Montreal Canadiens – 7p ET

    • In Montreal, the Predators made the annual trip to take on the Canadiens and in the firsts, Colton Sissons’ power play goal gave Nashville the 1-0 lead. In the second, Colton Sissons scored his second of the night but then a goal from Jake Evans put the Habs on the board. With a scoreless third period, the Predators escaped Montreal with a 2-1 win over the Canadiens.

    Los Angeles v. New York Rangers – 7p ET

    • In New York, the Rangers took on the Kings and after a scoreless first, Mika Zibanejad’s power play goal put New York on the board. Then, Jimmy Vesey got his sixth of the year to put the Blueshirts up 2-0. In the third, Phillip Danault scored a power play goal, his seventh of the year, to put the Kings on the board but then a power play goal from Jonny Brodzinski gave New York the two goal lead back. Then, Will Cuylle scored his fifth of the year as the Rangers the 4-1 win over the Kings.

    Winnipeg Jets v. Anaheim Ducks – 8p ET

    • In Anaheim, the Ducks welcomed the Jets and after a scoreless first, Alex Killorn scored a power play goal to give Anaheim the 1-0 lead. In the third, the Ducks took the 2-0 lead with Adam Henrique’s fifth of the year but then a goal from Nino Niederreiter put the Jets on the board. Then, Morgan Barron scored his fifth of the year to tie the game for Winnipeg and then Gabriel Vilardi got his first of the year. Then an empty net goal from Mark Scheifele gave the Jets the 4-2 win over the Ducks.

    • The Columbus Blue Jackets announced that they have placed forward Boone Jenner on Injured Reserve.
      • Jenner suffered a broken jaw on Friday night and will miss approximately six weeks.

    Arizona Coyotes v. Boston Bruins – 1p ET

    • In Boston for an early afternoon matinee the Bruins would play host to the Arizona Coyotes, and in the first period David Pastrnak and Charlie Coyle would score to give the B’s the 2-0 lead. In the second period Clayton Keller and Michael Carcone would score for the Yotes, but goals from Kevin Shattenkirk and Danton Heinen would keep the B’s ahead by two. Then in the third period Lawson Crouse would score for the Yotes, but Pastrnak’s second of the game would give the Bruins the 5-3 victory over the Coyotes.

In the second period Vladimir Tarasenko, Dominik Kubalik, and Tim Stuetzle would score to give the Sens the 4-1 lead. Then in the third period Jake Sanderson would score to give the Senators the 5-1 victory over the Red Wings.

    Buffalo Sabres v. Boston Bruins – 7p ET

    • In Beantown, the Bruins welcomed the Sabres back to Boston and after a scoreless first, Buffalo got on the board when JJ Peterka scored his 11th of the season. Then, Tage Thompson scored his seventh of the year to put the Sabres up two. Brad Marchand then scored his 12th of the year to get the Bruins on the board. In the third, Victor Olofsson then scored his fourth of the the year as the Sabres downed the Bruins 3-1.

    San Jose Sharks v. Detroit Red Wings – 7p ET

    • In the Motor City, Patrick Kane took the ice for the first time in a Detroit sweater as the Red Wings welcomed the Sharks for their annual visit. After a scoreless first, Detroit got four goals when Klim Kostin scored his second of the year, Michael Rasmussen notched a pair, and then Lucas Raymond scored his ninth of the year. Then, San Jose responded with four goals of their own when Tomas Hertl scored his eighth and Fabian Zetterlund also scored his eighth, both goals of which came shorthanded, and then Nico Sturm scored a pair to make this an even game. In the third, Dylan Larkin’s 11th of the year put Detroit back up but then Tomas Hertl scored his second of the night to tie the game for San Jose. In overtime, Mikael Granlund’s third of the year lifted the Sharks to the 6-5 win over the Red Wings.

    Los Angeles Kings v. Montreal Canadiens – 7p ET

    • In Montreal, the Kings took the trip to take on the Canadiens and in the first, Los Angeles took the lead when Drew Doughty scored his seventh of the year and then Quinton Byfield scored his seventh of the year to give the Kings the 2-0 lead. In the second, Quinton Byfield’s power play goal gave Los Angeles the 3-0 lead. In the third, Trevor Moore’s 13th of the year sealed the game as the Kings shutout the Canadiens 4-0.

    Toronto Maple Leafs v. Ottawa Senators – 7p ET

    • In the Canadian capital, the Maple Leafs took on the Senators and in the first, Ottawa took the 1-0 with Josh Norris’ sixth of the year. In the second, Toronto tied the game when Mitchell Marner scored his ninth of the year and then the Maple Leafs took the lead with David Kampf’s second of the year. In the third, Calle Jarnkrok’s sixth of the year put Toronto up two but then Ottawa brought it within a goal when Jacob Bernard-Docker scored his first career NHL goal. Then, William Nylander scored his 13th of the year to put Toronto back up two but Ottawa’s Claude Giroux scored his eighth of the year. Despite the late goal from Ottawa, the Maple Leafs held on for the 4-3 win over the Senators.

    Columbus Blue Jackets v. New York Islanders – 730p ET

    • In Long Island, the Islanders hosted the Blue Jackets and in the first, Pierre Engvall scored his fourth of the year to put New York up 1-0. In the second, Emil Bemstrom scored his fourth of the year to tie the contest for Columbus and then Adam Fantilli scored his sixth to put the Jackets up a goal. Then, Cal Clutterbuck’s fourth of the year tied the contest for New York and then Mathew Barzal scored his eighth of the year to give the Isles the lead back. Then, Kyle Palmieri scored a power play goal, his seventh of the year, to give New York the 4-2 lead. In the third, Adam Fantilli scored his second of the night to bring Columbus within a goal but then Mathew Barzal scored his second of the night to give New York the 5-3 lead. Then, Bo Horvat scored a pair to give the Islanders the 7-3 win over the Blue Jackets.

    Dallas Stars v. Washington Capitals – 8p ET

    • In the Nation’s Capital, the Stars returned to Washington to take on the Capitals. In the first, Washington took the 1-0 lead Aliaksei Protas scored his third of the year and then Tyler Seguin got Dallas on the board with his ninth of the year. In the second, Dylan Strome scored his ninth of the year to put Washington back up a goal and then Evgeny Kuznetsov netted his fifth of the year to give the Caps the two goal lead. Then, Mason Marchment got his ninth of the year to bring the Stars within a goal. In the third, Roope Hintz scored a power play goal, his ninth of the year, to tie the game for Dallas but then Dylan Strome scored his second of the night on the power play, also his 100th career NHL goal. Then, Roope Hintz went on to score his second of the night as the Stars tied the game. After a scoreless overtime, Jason Robertson scored the lone goal in the shootout as the Stars downed the Capitals 5-4.

    Tampa Bay Lightning v. Nashville Predators – 8p ET

    • In Music City, the Predators hosted the Lightning for the lone time on the year and in the first Tampa took the 1-0 lead when Alex Barré-Boulet scored his fifth of the year but then Juuso Parssinen scored his fifth on a Nashville power play to tie the game.
