News

  • The NHL Player’s Association announced that they are filing an appeal on behalf of Detroit Red Wings forward David Perron.
    • Perron was suspended for six games for cross checking Ottawa Senators defenseman Artem Zub.

  • After their loss to the Detroit Red Wings, the St. Louis Blues relieved Craig Berube of his duties as head coach.
    • The Blues would name Drew Bannister the new interim head coach.

  • The Professional Women’s Hockey League unveiled all six team rosters for the 2023-24 season.

Toronto Maple Leafs v. New York Rangers – 7p ET

  • At Madison Square Garden we would be treated to an Original Six matchup as the New York Rangers would play host to the Toronto Maple Leafs, and in the first period Blake Wheeler would score for the Rangers, but Auston Matthews 20th of the season and goals from Conor Timmins, Calle Jarnkrok, and Mitch Marner would give the Leafs the 4-1 lead. In the second period Mika Zibanejad would score and Wheeler would net his second of the game to get the Rangers back within one. Then in the third period Marner and Matthews would both net their second of the game, and David Kampf would score to give the Maple Leafs the 7-3 victory over the Rangers.

Carolina Hurricanes v. Ottawa Senators – 7p ET

  • In Ottawa the Senators would play host to the Carolina Hurricanes, and in the first period Josh Norris would open the scoring for the Sens, but Martin Necas would score to tie the game at one for the Canes. Then in the second period Sebastian Aho would net a pair of goals and Seth Jarvis would score to give the Hurricanes the 4-1 victory over the Senators.

Arizona Coyotes v. Pittsburgh Penguins – 7p ET

  • In Pittsburgh the Penguins would take on the Arizona Coyotes, and in the first period Jake Guentzel and Jeff Carter would score for the Pens while Lawson Crouse and Matias Maccelli would score for the Yotes for the 2-2 tie. Then after a scoreless second period both Carter and Guentzel would net their second of the game to give the Penguins the 4-2 victory over the Coyotes.

Detroit Red Wings v. St. Louis Blues – 730p ET

  • In St. Louis the Blues would reignite their old rivalry with the Detroit Red Wings, and in the first period Brandon Saad would open the scoring for the Blues, but goals from Jake Walman and Jonatan Berggren would give the Wings the 2-1 lead. In the second period Moritz Seider would score for the Wings, but a pair of goals from Kevin Hayes and a tally from Marco Scandella would give the Blues the 4-3 lead. Then in the third period Lucas Raymond, Robby Fabbri, and Michael Rasmussen would score to give the Red Wings the 6-4 victory over the Blues.

Philadelphia Flyers v. Nashville Predators – 8p ET

  • In Nashville the Philadelphia Flyers would come to town to take on the Predators, and in the first period Gustav Nyquist would score to give the Preds the 1-0 lead. In the second period Michael McCarron would score to grow the Preds lead to two, but Sean Couturier would score to get the Flyers back within one. Then in the third period Travis Sanheim would score to tie the game at two for the Flyers to force overtime. In the extra frame Filip Forsberg would score 18 seconds in to give the Predators the 3-2 victory over the Flyers.
