News:

  • The Department of Player Safety has announced that on Monday, November 11th Columbus Blue Jackets forward Nick Foligno will have a hearing for elbowing Colorado Avalanche’s Pierre-Edouard Bellemare.

 

  • Per Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports, the Washington Capitals have placed defenseman Tyler Lewington on waivers.

 

  • The Toronto Maple Leafs have announced that Mitch Marner will miss a minimum of four weeks due to an ankle injury.

 

Game Recaps:

Florida Panthers v. New York Rangers – 1p EST Start Time

In New York the Rangers would take on the Florida Panthers in an afternoon matinee. In the first period the Panthers would take advantage over the Rangers after the Rangers would score first with Ryan Lindgren’s first career goal as they would get goals from Aleksander Barkov and Dominic Toninato to take the 2-1 lead into the first intermission. Then in the second period the Panthers would get two more goals from Evgenii Dadonov and Frank Vatrano, but the Rangers would score four goals as Filip Chytil, Brady Skjei, Kaapo Kakko (PPG), and Chris Kreider (PPG) would score to give the Rangers the 5-4 lead. then in the third period the Panthers would force overtime with a Brian Boyle tally. Then in the shootout Vincent Trocheck would score the game winner to give the Panthers the 6-5 victory.

 

Dallas Stars v. Winnipeg Jets – 2p EST Start Time

In Winnipeg the Jets would play host to the Dallas Stars, and in the first period Patrik Laine would strike on the powerplay to give the Jets the 1-0 lead. Then in the second period the Stars would respond with goals from Mattias Janmark and Radek Faksa, but in the third period Andrew Copp would score for the Jets to force overtime. In overtime Mark Scheifele would score 21 seconds into the extra frame to win the game 3-2 for the Jets.

 

New Jersey Devils v. Vancouver Canucks – 4p EST Start Time

Vegas Golden Knights v. Detroit Red Wings – 5p EST Start Time

In Detroit the Red Wings would take on the Vegas Golden Knights. In the first period the Knights would strike first with a Jonathan Marchessault would score his fourth of the season, but before the first period could end the Wings would tie the game with an Andreas Athanasiou powerplay goal. In the second period Max Pacioretty would score to give the Knights the lead going into the second intermission. Then in the third period Madison Bowey would score his first of the season, then with 31 seconds left in the game Anthony Mantha would score his 11th of the season to give the Red Wings the 3-2 victory.

 

Philadelphia Flyers v. Boston Bruins – 7p EST Start Time

In Boston the Bruins would face the Philadelphia Flyers, and in the first period the Flyers would fly high on the Bruins as they would get goals from Travis Konecny and Philippe Myers to take the 2-0 lead. Then after a scoreless second period the Bruins would get goals from Danton Heinen, and Brad Marchand to tie the game at two and send the game to overtime. Then in the shootout Joel Farabee would score the lone goal to give the Flyers the 3-2 victory and their fourth straight win.

 

Toronto Maple Leafs v. Chicago Blackhawks – 7p EST Start Time

In Chicago the Blackhawks would host the Toronto Maple Leafs for an Original Six matchup. In the first period the Blackhawks would light up the Leafs with four goals as Patrick Kane would score a pair of goals, and Kirby Dach and Jonathan Toews (PPG) would score, while the Leafs would get a lone goal from William Nylander. Then in the third period the Leafs would get goals from Nylander (second of the game), John Tavares (PPG) and Andreas Johnsson (PPG), but the Blackhawks would get a goal from Brandon Saad to secure the 5-4 victory.

 

Edmonton Oilers v. Anaheim Ducks – 9p EST Start Time

In Anaheim the Ducks would face the Edmonton Oilers, and after trading goals in the first four minutes of the game that would see Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Rickard Rakell both scoring, it would be Connor McDavid scoring the next tally to give the Oilers the 2-1 lead heading into the first intermission. Then in the second period Nugent-Hopkins would score his second of the game on the powerplay, and Zack Kassian would get on the board to grow the Oilers lead to three. Then in the third period the Ducks would get back on the board as Max Jones would score his first to cut the deficit to two. However, McDavid would respond with his second of the game to retake the three goal lead for the Oilers. McDavid would not be done there though as he would score once again on the powerplay to complete the hat trick and give the Oilers the 6-2 victory.
