News:

  •  The NWHL announced that 949,065 watched the NWHL on Twitch for the month of October.

 

  • The NHL announced the 2020 Global Series matchups as the Boston Bruins and Nashville Predators will meet in the Czech Republic, and the Colorado Avalanche will face the Columbus Blue Jackets in Finland.

Tampa Bay Lightning v. Buffalo Sabres – 2p EST Start Time

In Sweden the Tampa Bay Lightning and Buffalo Sabres would face off for the NHL Global Series. in the first period the Lightning would strike as Nikita Kucherov and Alex Killorn (PPG) would score to make it 2-0. Then in the second period Sam Reinhart would score for the Sabres to cut the Lightning’s lead to one. In the third period Yanni Gourde would score to give the Lightning’s two goal lead back, but Reinhart would score his second of the game. However, it would not be enough as the Lightning would hold on to win 3-2.

 

Boston Bruins v. Detroit Red Wings – 730p EST Start Time

In Detroit the Red Wings play host to the Boston Bruins, and it would be the Bruins striking first as David Krejci would score his second of the season, but the Wings would respond as Dylan Larkin would score his fifth of the season, and newly acquired forward Robby Fabbri would score his first goal with the Red Wings on the powerplay to give the Wings the 2-1 lead heading into the first intermission. Then in the second period Fabbri would score his second goal of the game, and second on the powerplay to grow the Wings lead to two, but the Bruins would respond as Torey Krug would score on the powerplay to cut the Wings lead back to one. However, Anthony Mantha would score to secure the 4-2 victory for the Red Wings.

 

Vancouver Canucks v. Winnipeg Jets – 8p EST Start Time

In Winnipeg the Jets and Vancouver Canucks would play a scoreless first period, but in the second period both teams would trade goals as JT Miller would score for the Canucks, while Jack Roslovic would tie the game back up for the Jets. Before the end of the second Mark Scheifele would score to give the Jets the 2-1 lead. Then in the third period the Jets would get goals from Kyle Connor and Adam Lowry to secure the 4-1 victory.

 

New Jersey Devils v. Edmonton Oilers – 9p EST Start Time
