Florida Panthers v. New York Rangers – Game 5 – 8p ET
- In New York, the Rangers hosted the Panthers as each team looked to take the 3-2 series lead. After a scoreless first, Chris Kreider scored a shorthanded goal, his eighth goal of the playoffs to give New York the 1-0 lead but then Gustav Forsling scored his fourth as Florida tied the game. In the third, Anton Lundell scored his third to put Florida in the lead and then Sam Bennett scored an empty net goal to give the Cats the two goal lead. New York then got within a goal when Alexis Lafrenière scored his eighth goal of the postseason but the Panthers held on to get the 3-2 win over the Rangers and look to close out the series Saturday night.
