Today the National Hockey League has announced the Stars of the Month for the month of January 2024.
First Star – Nathan MacKinnon (C – COL)
- Nathan MacKinnon would lead the League with 12 goals and 14 assists for 26 points in 12 games for the Colorado Avalanche. MacKinnon, who was also the First Star for December, would find the scoresheet in all twelve games he played, and would extend his point streak to 13 games. MacKinnon would also extend his home point streak to 25 games, and would record multi-point games seven times including his four goal and one assist night against Washington on Jan. 24th.


Second Star – Stuart Skinner (G – EDM)
- In Nine appearances for the Edmonton Oilers, Stuart Skinner would go a perfect 9-0-0 with a 1.33 goals against average, and a .953 save percentage. Skinner’s netminding would help guide the Oilers as they embark on a 16 game winning streak that they are on going into the All Star break.


Third Star – Elias Pettersson (C – VAN)
- Elias Pettersson would record 14 goals and seven assists for 21 points in 13 games played for the Vancouver Canucks as he prepares for his fourth All Star appearance. Pettersson would lead the League with goals, game winning goals (5), and overtime goals (2) for the month of January. Pettersson would score in nine of his 13 games played, and would have five multi-point games. Pettersson would also become the first player in NHL history to score the game inning goal in four consecutive road games.
