Game Recaps

Buffalo Sabres v. Carolina Hurricanes – 7p ET
- In Carolina the Hurricanes would rock their red as they host the Buffalo Sabres, and in the first period Tony DeAngelo would net his first of the season while on the powerplay to give the Canes the 1-0 lead. In the second period Alex Tuch would score on a broken play to tie the game at one for the Sabres. Then in the third period Brady Skjei would strike for the Canes, but Rasmus Dahlin would score to tie the game at two for the Sabres and send the game to overtime. In the extra frame Martin Necas would strike 90 seconds into overtime to give the Hurricanes the 3-2 victory over the Sabres.

Tampa Bay Lightning v. Montreal Canadiens – 7p ET
- In Montreal the Canadiens would play host to the Tampa Bay Lightning, and in the first period Nikita Kucherov, Nick Paul, Alex Barre-Boulet, and Michael Eyssimont would all score to give the Bolts the dominating 4-0 lead. Then after a scoreless second period Nick Suzuki, Michael Pezzetta, and Christian Dvorak would score for the Habs, but Paul would net his second of the game to give the Lightning the 5-3 victory over the Canadiens.

Minnesota Wild v. New York Islanders – 730p ET
- On Long Island the Minnesota Wild would come to town to take on the New York Islanders, and in the first period Pat Maroon would open the scoring for the wild, but Noah Dobson would score to tie the game at one for the Isles. In the second period Oliver Wahlstrom would net his first of the season for the Isles, but Vinni Lettieri would strike for the Wild to tie the game at two. Then in the third period Kirill Kaprizov and Joel Eriksson Ek would score to give the Wild the 4-2 victory over the Islanders.

Detroit Red Wings v. New York Rangers – 730p ET
- Meanwhile, at Madison Square Garden the New York Rangers would host the Detroit Red Wings in an Original Six matchup, and in the first period Vincent Trocheck would score to give the Rangers the 1-0 lead. In the second period Chris Kreider, Trocheck, Artemi Panarin, and Will Cuylle would score to grow the Rangers lead to five. Then in the third period Michael Rasmussen, Klim Kostin, and Andrew Copp would score for the Wings, but the Rangers would hold on for the 5-3 victory over the Red Wings.

Winnipeg Jets v. St. Louis Blues – 8p ET
- In St. Louis for a Central Division battle the Blues would play host to the Winnipeg Jets, and in the first period Mark Scheifele and Neal Pionk would score for the Jets to take the 2-0 lead, but Robert Thomas would score to get the Blues back within one. In the second period Kyle Connor would score to reclaim the two goal lead for the Jets. Then in the third period Brayden Schenn would score for the Blues, but Connor’s second of the game and a tally from Cole Perfetti would give the Jets the 5-2 victory over the Blues.
