  • The New Jersey Devils assigned goaltender Keith Kinkaid to Chicago off the AHL.
    • Kinkaid cleared waivers in order to be sent to the minors.

Washington Capitals v. Ottawa Senators – 7p ET

  • In Ottawa the Washington Capitals would hit the road for the first time this season as they would visit the Senators, and in the first period Vladimir Tarasenko would strike and Josh Norris would record a powerplay goal to give the Sens to take the 2-0 lead, but John Carlson would score on a broken play to get the Caps on the board and back within one. In the second period the Sens would strike back as Norris would net his second of the game, and Artem Zub would follow suit with a blast from the point to give the Sens the 4-1 lead. Later in the period Claude Giroux would score to grow the Sens lead to four. Then in the third period Jake Sanderson would score to give the Senators the 6-1 victory over the Capitals.

Pittsburgh Penguins v. Detroit Red Wings – 730p ET

  • In Detroit the Red Wings would take on the Pittsburgh Penguins, and in the first period Evgeni Malkin would score 53 seconds into the game to give the Pens the 1-0, but Alex DeBrincat would score to tie the game at one for the Wings. In the second period Ben Chiarot, Andrew Copp, and David Perron would score to give the Wings the 4-1 lead. Then in the third period Erik Karlsson would net his first as a Penguin and Bryan Rust would score to cut their deficit to one, but Copp and DeBrincat would both net their second goals of the game to give the Red Wings the 6-3 victory over the Penguins.
