• The Los Angeles Kings announced that they have mutually part ways with Vice President and General Manager Rob Blake.

• The New York Islanders has won the NHL Draft Lottery, and will be selecting first overall in the 2025 NHL Draft.

• The NHL announced the finalists for the Calder Memorial Trophy.
  • The finalists are Macklin Celebrini (SJ), Lane Hutson (MON), and Dustin Wolf (CAL).

• In the PWHL, they announced their Three Stars of the Week.
  • Nicole Hensley of the Minnesota Frost was named First Star.
  • Lee Stecklein (MIN) and Marie-Philip Poulin (MON) would round out the rest of the Three Stars.

Florida Panthers v. Toronto Maple Leafs – 8p ET – Game 1

• The Second Round begins in Toronto as the Maple Leafs play host to the Florida Panthers for Game 1 of their series, and in the first period it would be an eventful one. In the first period William Nylander scored 33 seconds into the game to give the Leafs the 1-0 lead, and Nylander followed that up with another goal 12 minutes later to grow their lead to two. Later in the period Seth Jones scored while on the powerplay to get the Panthers on the board, but Morgan Reilly would score 19 seconds later to regain the two goal lead.
  
  In the second period Chris Tanev would score his first of the playoffs to grow the Leafs lead to three, but later in the period Panthers forward Sam Bennett would elbow Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz in the head, and removing him from the game. Then in the third period Eetu Luostarinen and Uvis Balinskis scored to get the Panthers back within one, but after a timeout, Matthew Knies scored to give the Leafs the 5-3 lead. Sam Bennett scored late in regulation for the Panthers, but it would be too little, too late as the Maple Leafs held on for the 5-4 victory to take Game 1.
