    Edmonton Oilers v. Florida Panthers – Game 1 – 8p ET

    • At long last the Stanley Cup Final would finally begin in Florida as the Panthers would play host to the Edmonton Oilers for Game 1, and in the first period Carter Verhaeghe would net his 10th of the playoffs to give the Panthers the early 1-0 lead. Then we would see both teams trade powerplays, but neither team would be able to take advantage of them, but a very late penalty by Verhaeghe would give the Oilers the powerplay heading into the first intermission. To open up the second period the Oilers would fail to score on the powerplay, and that would open the door for the Panthers as Evan Rodrigues would score to grow the lead to two. Both teams would get another pair of powerplays, but once again, both teams would be lights out with their penalty killing. Then in the third period the Oilers would kill off one last penalty, and would try to do a late charge, but Sergei Bobrovsky would stop all 33 shots faced and Eetu Luostarinen would get the empty netter as the Panthers would take Game 1 3-0 over the Oilers.
