• The Seattle Kraken announced that they have hired Lane Lambert as their new Head Coach.

Edmonton Oilers v. Dallas Stars – 8p ET – Game 5

• Back in Dallas for Game 5 of the Western Conference Final, the Edmonton Oilers look to duplicate what the Florida Panthers did the night before, and advance to the Stanley Cup Final by eliminating the Stars, and in the first period Corey Perry struck early on the powerplay to give the Oilers the 1-0 lead, and Mattias Janmark scored less than five minutes later to grow the Oilers lead to two. The Stars would pull Jake Oettinger and put Casey DeSmith in net, but Jeff Skinner score his first career playoff goal to give the Oilers the 3-0 lead. Later in the first period, Jason Robertson scored to get the Stars on the board and back within two.
  
  In the second period, the Stars would push back against the Oilers and apply pressure for a good stretch of the period, and Roope Hintz would score on the powerplay to get the Stars back within one, but two minutes later Connor McDavid scored on a breakaway to reclaim the two goal lead for the Oilers. Then in the third period Robertson scored his second of the game to get the Stars back within one again, but a lucky bounce for Evander Kane would retake the two goal lead for the Oilers. To finish off the Stars, Kasperi Kapanen would get the empty netter to give the Oilers the 6-3 victory over the Stars to advance to the Stanley Cup Final for a rematch with the Florida Panthers.

• The Edmonton Oilers announced that forward Zach Hyman will have surgery to repair a broken wrist, and will miss the rest of the playoffs.
  • Hyman was injured in Game 4 of the Western Conference Final against the Dallas Stars on Tuesday night.

Florida Panthers v. Carolina Hurricanes – 8p ET – Game 5

• Back in Carolina for Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Final, the Hurricanes look to keep their season alive as they host the Florida Panthers, and in the first period, Sebastian Aho scored a pair of goals to give the Hurricanes the 2-0 lead. In the second period the Panthers would rally with three goals on three shots as Matthew Tkachuk (PPG), Evan Rodrigues, and Anton Lundell would all score to give the Panthers the 3-2 lead. Then in the third period, Seth Jarvis scored to tie the game at three for the Hurricanes, but Carter Verhaeghe’s tally reclaimed the lead for the Panthers, and then an empty netter by Sam Bennet gave the Panthers the 5-3 victory over the Hurricanes to take the series 4-1 and advance to the Stanley Cup Final for the third consecutive year.

• In Edmonton for Game 4, the Dallas Stars look to even their series against the Oilers, and in the first period while on the powerplay, Leon Draisaitl scored to give the Oilers the 1-0 lead. In the second period, Jason Robertson scored on the powerplay to tie the game at one for the Stars, but a powerplay goal from Corey Perry would retake the lead for the Oilers. Then in the third period, a pair of empty net goals by Kasperi Kapanen and Adam Henrique would give the Oilers the 4-1 victory over the Stars and the 3-1 series lead.

• In a pivotal Game 4 for the Carolina Hurricanes, they look to avoid being swept in the Eastern Conference Final for the third consecutive time as they visit the Florida Panthers, and after a scoreless first period, Logan Stankoven scored his fifth of the playoffs to give the Hurricanes the 1-0 lead. Then in the third period both Sebastian Aho and Jordan Staal got empty netters to give the Hurricanes the 3-0 victory over the Panthers to force a Game 5 on Wednesday. Frederik Andersen stopped all 20 shots faced to earn the shutout and help end the Hurricanes Eastern Conference Final losing streak at 15 games.

• In Edmonton, the Western Conference Final shifts for Game 3, and in the first period Evan Bouchard and Connor McDavid scored to give the Oilers the 2-0 lead over the Dallas Stars. In the second period Jason Robertson would score his first of the playoffs to get the Stars back within one, but McDavid’s second of the game with 19 seconds left in the period would reclaim the two goal lead for the Oilers. Then in the third period Zach Hyman scored a pair of goals and John Klingberg scored against his former team as the Oilers defeated the Stars 6-1 to take the 2-1 series lead.

• In Florida for Game 3, the Carolina Hurricanes look to the road to regain their winning ways as they battle the Panthers, and in the first period Niko Mikkola scored to give the Panthers the 1-0 lead. In the second period Logan Stankoven scored while on the powerplay to tie the game at one for the Hurricanes. Then in the third period the Panthers would unleash a scoring frenzy as Jesper Boqvist, Mikkola, Aleksander Barkov (twice), and Brad Marchand would all score to give the Panthers the 6-1 lead. Seth Jarvis would score after giving up five straight, but it would be too little too late as the Panthers would take Game 3 6-2 over the Hurricanes and take the commanding 3-0 series lead.
