- The Washington Capitals announced that defenseman Martin Fehervary will miss the entire playoffs after having surgery to repair the meniscus in his right knee. (Capitals PR Twitter)
- The Seattle Kraken announced that they have promoted Ron Francis and Jason Botterill. (Kraken Twitter)
- Francis was promoted to President of Hockey Operations.
- Botterill was promoted to Executive Vice President & General Manager.
- The New York Islanders announced that they will not be renewing Lou Lamoriello’s contract as President and General Manager.

New Jersey Devils v. Carolina Hurricanes – 6p ET – Game 2
- In Carolina, the New Jersey Devils look to split the series on the road as they face the Hurricanes in Game 2, and in the first period Jesper Bratt scored for the Devils to take the 1-0 lead. In the second period the Hurricanes responded as Shayne Gostisbehere scored to tie the game, and then Jordan Martinook scored while shorthanded to give the Hurricanes the 2-1 lead. Then in the third period Seth Jarvis would score his first of the playoffs with an empty netter to give the Hurricanes the 3-1 victory over the Devils to take the 2-0 series lead.

Ottawa Senators v. Toronto Maple Leafs – 730p ET – Game 2
- In Toronto the Maple Leafs look to grow their series lead against the Ottawa Senators, and in the first period Morgan Rielly opened the scoring for the Leafs 3:43 into the game. Moments later John Tavares scored on the powerplay to grow the Leafs lead to two. In the second period Brady Tkachuk while on the powerplay for his first career playoff goal to get the Senators back within one. Then in the third period Adam Gaudette scored to tie the game at two to force overtime for the Senators.
In overtime it did not take long as Max Domi scored 3:09 into the extra frame to give the Maple Leafs the 3-2 victory and the 2-0 series lead over the Senators.

Florida Panthers v. Tampa Bay Lightning – 830p ET – Game 1
- In Tampa Bay, the eight and final series of the Stanley Cup Playoffs begins as the Lightning host the Florida Panthers for Game 1 of the Battle of Florida, and in the first period Sam Bennett scored his first of the playoffs to give the Panthers the 1-0 lead 3:44 into the game. Later in the period Jake Guentzel scored on the powerplay to tie the game at one for the Lightning, but with 45 seconds left int he first period Sam Reinhart scored his first of the playoffs to retake the lead for the Panthers.
In the second period Nate Schmidt scored, and then Matthew Tkachuk scored a pair of powerplay goals to give the Panthers the commanding 5-1 lead, however, later in the period Brayden Point scored to get the Panthers back within three. Then in the third period Schmidt recorded his second goal of the game to give the Panthers the 6-2 victory to take Game 1 over the Lightning.

Minnesota Wild v. Vegas Golden Knights – 11p ET – Game 2
- In the final game of the day, the Vegas Golden Knights play host to the Minnesota Wild for Game 2 of their series, and in the first period Matt Boldy and Marcus Foligno both scored midway through the period to give the Wild the 2-0 lead. Then later in the period Mats Zuccarello scored to grow the Wild’s lead to three. In the second period Kirill Kaprizov scored to grow the Wild’s lead to four, but Noah Hanafin scored to get the Knights back within three.
Then in the third period Tomas Hertl scored to to get the Knights back within two, but Kaprizov’s second of the game, via empty netter, would give the Wild the 5-2 victory over the Golden Knights to tie the series at one.
