Montreal Canadiens v. Washington Capitals – 7p ET – Game 1
- In Washington, the Capitals play host to the Montreal Canadiens for their first round matchup, and in the first period Alex Ovechkin continued his hot streak with a powerplay goal to give the Capitals the 1-0 lead. In the second period the Capitals continued to sustain the pressure on the Canadiens as Anthony Beauvillier scored his first of the playoffs to grow the Capitals lead to two.
Then in the third period the Capitals took their foot off the gas, and Cole Caufield scored on the powerplay and Nick Suzuki scored to tie the game at two for the Canadiens and force overtime. In the extra frame, say his name and he will score, Ovechkin scored 2:26 into overtime to give the Capitals the 3-2 victory and take the 1-0 series lead over the Canadiens.

St. Louis Blues v. Winnipeg Jets – 730p ET – Game 2
- In Winnipeg for Game 2, the St. Louis Blues look to bounce back and even the series at one against the Jets. In the first period Mark Scheifele opened the scoring for the Jets to take the 1-0 lead, but Jimmy Snuggerud’s first career playoff goal tied the game at one for the Blues. Then after a scoreless second period, Kyle Connor scored to give the Jets the 2-1 victory and the 2-0 series lead over the Blues.

Colorado Avalanche v. Dallas Stars – 930p ET – Game 2
- In Game 2, the Dallas Stars look to split the series at home as they host the Colorado Avalanche, and in the first period Nathan MacKinnon scored on the powerplay to give the Avalanche the 1-0 lead, but late in the period Tyler Seguin scored a powerplay goal of his own to tie the game at one for the Stars.
In the second period Thomas Harley scored to give the Stars the 2-1 lead, but goals from Jack Drury and Logan O’Connor would give the Avalanche the 3-2 lead. Then in the third period Evgenii Dadonov would score to tie the game at three as the Stars forced overtime.
In the extra frame, Colin Blackwell scored with 2:14 left to give the Stars the 4-3 overtime victory over the Avalanche, and tie the series at one.

Edmonton Oilers v. Los Angeles Kings – 10p ET – Game 1
- In Los Angeles for Game 1 of their series, the Kings faceoff with the Edmonton Oilers for the fourth consecutive year, and in the first period Andrei Kuzmenko scored while on the powerplay and Quinton Byfield scored to give the Kings the 2-0 lead. In the second period Adrian Kempe and Phillip Danault scored to grow the Kings lead to four, but a tally from Leon Draisaitl would get the Oilers on the board.
In the third period Mattias Janmark would score his first of the playoffs to get the Oilers back within two, but Kevin Fiala’s powerplay tally would regain the three goal lead for the Kings. Moments later Corey Perry scored to get the Oilers back within two, and then late in regulation Zach Hyman and Connor McDavid both scored their first goals of the playoffs tie the game at five for the Oilers. However, Danault’s second of the game with 42 seconds left in regulation would give the Kings the 6-5 victory to take Game 1 over the Oilers.
