Game Recaps

Carolina Hurricanes v. New York Rangers – Game 2 – 7p ET
- At Madison Square Garden for Game 2, the New York Rangers would play host to the Carolina Hurricanes with hopes of winning both games at home, and in the first period Alexis Lafreniere would strike for the Rangers, but goals from Jake Guentzel and Dmitry Orlov would give the Canes the 2-1 lead. In the second period Lafreniere would net his second of the game to tie the game at two for the Rangers, but Guentzel’s second of the game would retake the lead for the Canes. Then in the third period Chris Kreider would score to tie the game at three for the Rangers to send the game to overtime. After a scoreless first overtime, it would be Vincent Trocheck with the winner for the Rangers to defeat the Hurricanes 4-3 in double overtime and take the 2-0 series lead.
