Game Recaps

Toronto Maple Leafs v. Boston Bruins – Game 5 – 7p ET
- In Boston the Bruins would look to eliminate the Toronto Maple Leafs, and in the first period Jake McCabe would open the scoring for the Leafs, but Trent Frederic would score to tie the game at one for the B’s. Then after a scoreless second and third periods Matthew Knies would score in the opening minutes of overtime to give the Maple Leafs the 2-1 victory over the Bruins to force a Game 6.

New York Islanders v. Carolina Hurricanes – Game 5 – 730p ET
- In Carolina the Hurricanes would look to move on to the second round with a victory over the New York Islanders, and in the first period Teuvo Teravainen and Andrei Svechnikov would score to give the Canes the 2-0 lead, but Mike Reilly would score to get the Isles on the board and back within one. In the second period Evgeny Kuznetsov would score on a penalty shot for the Canes, but Brock Nelson and Casey Cizikas would score to tie the game at three for the Isles. Then in the third period Jack Drury, Stefan Niesen, and Seth Jarvis would score to give the Hurricanes the 6-3 victory over the Islanders to take the series 4-1.
