It would be a tough one for the Washington Capitals as they would fall behind on the road and lose Game 2 to the New York Rangers.

- The Philadelphia Flyers announced that they have re-signed goaltender Ivan Fedotov.
- Fedotov would sign a two year deal with an AAV of $3.25 million per season.

Game Recaps

Washington Capitals v. New York Rangers – Game 2 – 7p ET
- At Madison Square Garden for Game 2 between the Washington Capitals and New York Rangers, the Caps would look to bounce back and in the first period Connor McMichael would strike first for the Caps to take the 1-0 lead, but goals from Vincent Trocheck and Mika Zibanejad would give the Rangers the 2-1 lead. In the second period Dylan Strome would strike on the powerplay to tie the game at two for the Caps, but goals from Jack Roslovic and K’Andre Miller would give the Rangers the 4-2 lead. Then in the third period Tom Wilson would score while on the powerplay, but it would not be enough for the Capitals as they would fall to the Rangers 4-3 and trail the series two games to none.

Tampa Bay Lightning v. Florida Panthers – Game 2 – 730p ET
- In Florida the Panthers would play host to the Tampa Bay Lightning for Game 2 of their series, and in the first period Sam Bennett and Vladimir Tarasenko would score to give the Panthers the 2-0 lead. In the second period Brayden Point and Steven Stamkos would score to tie the game at two for the Bolts. Then after a scoreless third period Carter Verhaeghe would strike to give the Panthers the 3-2 overtime victory over the Lightning to take the 2-0 series lead.
