New York Islanders v. Carolina Hurricanes – Game 1 – 5p ET

  • In Carolina for Game 1, the Hurricanes would play host to the New York Islanders, and in the first period Evgeny Kuznetsov would open the scoring for the Canes, but later in the period Kyle MacLean would score to tie the game at one for the Isles. then after a scoreless second period Stefan Noesen and Martin Necas would score to give the Hurricanes the 3-1 victory over the Islanders.

Toronto Maple Leafs v. Boston Bruins – Game 1 – 8p ET

  • In Boston the Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs would rekindle their rivalry as the Original Six teams would faceoff in Game 1 of their first round series. In the first period John Beecher would score to get the B’s on the board for the 1-0 lead. In the second period Brandon Carlo would score and then Jake DeBrusk would score a pair of goals to grow the B’s lead to four. Then in the third period David Kampf would score for the Leafs, but Trent Frederic would score to give the Bruins the 5-1 victory over the Maple Leafs.
