News

  • The NHL Department of Player Safety announced that they have fined Buffalo Sabres defenseman Bowen Byram.
    • Byram would be fined $5,000 for interference against Ottawa Senators forward Angus Crookshank on Wednesday night.
    • The fined is the maximum allowed per the CBA.

  • We would see four teams clinch berths into the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
    • The Boston Bruins, who were idle Thursday, clinched their spot in the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

    • With their victory over Detroit, the Carolina Hurricanes would clinch their spot into the playoffs.

    • After defeating Vancouver the Dallas Stars would become the first team in the West to clinch a playoff berth.

    • And lastly, despite losing to the New York Islanders earlier in the night, the Florida Panthers would clinch their spot in the playoffs too.

New York Islanders v. Florida Panthers – 7p ET

  • In South Florida, the Panthers hosted the Islanders and in the first Vladimir Tarasenko scored his 21st of the year to put Florida up 1-0 but then Ryan Pulock’s fifth of the year put the Isles on the board. In the second, Florida re-took the lead when Aleksander Barkov got his 19th of the year but then Mathew Barzal scored his 23rd of the year to even the score once more. Then, Jean-Gabriel Pageau got his 10th of the year for the Isles. With a scoreless third, the Islanders downed the Panthers 3-2.
    • Despite the loss by Florida, they clinched a spot in the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Philadelphia Flyers v. Montreal Canadiens – 7p ET

  • In Montreal, the Canadiens welcomed the Flyers and in the first a power play goal from Nick Suzuki put Montreal up 1-0 and then Jesse Ylönen scored his fourth of the season as the Habs went up 2-0. After a scoreless second, Joel Armia scored an empty netter as Montreal went up 3-0 but a late goal from Owen Tippett put Philadelphia on the board. Jake Evans then went on to score the game winner as the Canadiens flew by the Flyers 4-1.
    • The loss by the Flyers clinched a spot for the Boston Bruins in the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Chicago Blackhawks v. Ottawa Senators – 7p ET

  • In Ottawa, the Senators hosted the Blackhawks and in the first period, Ottawa took the 1-0 lead when Claude Giroux scored a shorthanded goal just 36 seconds into the contest and then Parker Kelly netted his eighth of the year. Following a scoreless second and third, the Senators went on to get the 2-0 shutout over the Blackhawks.

Columbus Blue Jackets v. Pittsburgh Penguins – 7p ET

  • In Pittsburgh the Penguins would play host to the Columbus Blue Jackets, and after a scoreless first period Mathieu Olivier and Cole Sillinger would score for the Jackets, but a pair of goals from Evgeni Malkin would tie the game at two for the Pens. Then in the third period Drew O’Connor would score to give the Penguins the 3-2 victory over the Blue Jackets.

Washington Capitals v. Toronto Maple Leafs – 7p ET

  • In Toronto, the Maple Leafs hosted the Capitals and in the first Toronto took the 1-0 lead with Mark Giordano’s second of the year. In the second, the Leafs took the 2-0 lead with Tyler Bertuzzi’s 17th of the year but then Nic Dowd’s 10th of the year put Washington on the board. Then, Connor Dewar got his 11th of the year to put the Leafs back up two. In the third, Bobby McMann got his 14th of the year to put Toronto up 4-1 and then Tyler Bertuzzi scored his second of the night as the Maple Leafs dominated the Capitals 5-1.

Detroit Red Wings v. Carolina Hurricanes – 7:30p ET

  • In Raleigh, the Hurricanes welcomed the Red Wings and following the scoreless first, Sebastian Aho scored his 32nd to put Carolina up 1-0 and then a power play goal from Seth Jarvis gave the Canes the 2-0 lead. Martin Necas then got his 23rd of the year as Carolina took the 3-0 lead and then Brady Skjei got his 13th of the year as the Hurricanes shutout the Red Wings 4-0.
    • The win by the Hurricanes clinched them a berth in the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
    • The loss by the Red Wings gave the Florida Panthers a berth in the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs

San Jose Sharks v. Minnesota Wild – 8p ET

  • In Minnesota, the Wild hosted the Sharks and in the first, Minnesota took the 1-0 lead when Joel Eriksson Ek got his 30th of the year. In the second, San Jose tied the game when Mikael Granlund scored his 11th of the year. In the third, Matt Boldy’s 25th of the year put Minnesota back in the lead and then an empty netter from Ryan Hartman gave the Wild the 3-1 win over the Sharks.

Calgary Flames v. St. Louis Blues – 8p ET

  • In St. Louis, the Blues hosted the Flames and in the first Zack Bolduc got his second of the year to put St. Louis up 1-0 but then Andrei Kuzmenko got his 14th of the year to tie the game 1-1. Jonathan Huberdeau then got his 11th of the year on the Calgary power play to put the Flames up 2-1. In the second, Jake Neighbours got his 26th of the year as St. Louis tied the game and then Pavel Buchnevich scord a power play goal to put the Blues back up a goal. Andrei Kuzmenko then scored his 15th as Calgary tied the contest once more. In the third, Brandon Saad scored his 24th of the year as St. Louis went up 4-3 and then Pavel Buchnevich scored an empty netter, and his second of the night, as the Blues extinguished the Flames 5-3.

Vegas Golden Knights v. Winnipeg Jets – 8p ET

  • In Winnipeg, the Jets hosted the Golden Knights and in the first Vegas made it 1-0 when Pavel Dorofeyev scored his 12th of the year. Winnipeg then got on the board when Sean Monahan got his 23rd of the season. In the third, Ivan Barbashev got a pair of goals as Vegas went up 3-1. Jack Eichel then called game as he hit the empty net to give the Golden Knights the 4-1 win over the Jets.
