  • It was announced that former Washington Capital Chris Simon has passed away.
    • Simon spent seven years with the Capitals, and also played for the Quebec Nordiques, Colorado Avalanche, Chicago Blackhawks, New York Rangers, Calgary Flames, New York Islanders, and Minnesota Wild.
    • Simon would win the Stanley Cup with Colorado in 1996 and be part of the Capitals (1998) and Flames (2004) teams that would make the Stanley Cup Final.

  • In Boston the Bruins would faceoff with the Ottawa Senators, and in the first period David Pastrnak would net a pair of goals to give the B’s the 2-0 lead. In the second period Shane Pinto and Brady Tkachuk would score for the Sens, but Justin Brazeau would score to give the B’s the 3-2 lead. Then in the third period Pastrnak would score to complete the hat trick, and goals from Jesper Boqvist and Brazeau would give the Bruins the 6-2 victory over the Senators.

Columbus Blue Jackets v. Detroit Red Wings – 7p ET

  • In Detroit the Red Wings would play for their playoff lives as they host the Columbus Blue Jackets, and in the first period Zach Werenski and Alexandre Texier would score to give the Jackets the 2-0 lead. In the second period Lucas Raymond and Moritz Seider would score to tie the game at two for the Wings. Then in the third period Kirill Marchenko would score for the Jackets, but Raymond would net his second of the game to tie the game at three for the Wings to force overtime. In the extra frame Patrick Kane would score to give the Red Wings the 4-3 overtime victory over the Blue Jackets.

Pittsburgh Penguins v. New Jersey Devils – 7p ET

  • In New Jersey the Pittsburgh Penguins would come to town to faceoff with the Devils, and in the first period Dawson Mercer would score for the Devils to take the 1-0 lead. In the second period Marcus Pettersson would strike for the Pens to tie the game at one, but Timo Meier would score to retake the lead for the Devils. Then in the third period Bryan Rust would score for the Pens, but goals from Alexander Holtz, Mercer, and Meier would give the Devils the 5-2 victory over the Penguins.

Winnipeg Jets v. New York Rangers – 7p ET

  • At Madison Square Garden the New York Rangers would faceoff with the Winnipeg Jets, and after a scoreless first period Alex Wennberg would score for the Rangers, but a pair of goals from Mark Scheifele and a tally from Kyle Connor would give the Jets the 3-1 lead. Then in the third period Alexis Lafreniere would score for the Rangers, but Scheifele would score to complete the hat trick and give the Jets the 4-2 victory over the Rangers.

Toronto Maple Leafs v. Philadelphia Flyers – 7p ET

  • In Philadelphia the Flyers would go to battle with the Toronto Maple Leafs, and in the first period Owen Tippett would score to give the Flyers the 1-0 lead. In the second period Travis Sanheim and Morgan Frost would score to grow the Flyers lead to three. Then in the third period William Nylander, Tyler Bertuzzi, and John Tavares would score for the Leafs, but Scott Laughton would score to give the Flyers the 4-3 victory over the Maple Leafs.

Carolina Hurricanes v. New York Islanders – 7:30p ET

  • Meanwhile, on Long Island, the New York Islander would take on the Carolina Hurricanes, and in the first period Seth Jarvis would net a pair of goals and Martin Necas would score to give the Canes the 3-0 lead. Then after a scoreless second period Kyle Palmieri would strike for the Isles, but Jake Guentzel would score to give the Hurricanes the 4-1 victory over the Islanders.

San Jose Sharks v. Nashville Predators – 8p ET

  • In Nashville the Predators would take on the San Jose Sharks, and in the first period Roman Josi would score for the Preds to take the 1-0 lead, but Mikael Granlund would score to tie the game at one for the Sharks. In the second period Mario Ferraro would score for the Sharks to take the 2-1 lead, but goals from Jason Zucker, Michael McCarron, and Luke Evangelista would give the Preds the 4-2 lead. Then in the third period McCarron, Mark Jankowski, Filip Forsberg, and Tommy Novak would score to give the Predators the dominating 8-2 victory over the Sharks.

Colorado Avalanche v. St. Louis Blues – 8p ET

  • In St. Louis for a Central Division battle, the Blues would faceoff with the Colorado Avalanche, and in the first period Mikko Rantanen would open the scoring for the Avs, but Nathan Walker would score for the Blues to tie the game at one. In the second period Alexey Toropchenko and Brayden Schenn would strike for the Blues while Casey Mittelstadt and Rantanen would score fort he Avs for the 3-3 tie. Then in the third period Rantanen would score to complete the hat trick and give the Avalanche the 4-3 victory over the Blues.
