Game Recaps

Buffalo Sabres v. Detroit Red Wings – 12:30p ET
- In Detroit the Red Wings would look to end their seven game losing streak as they host the Buffalo Sabres, and in the first period Tage Thompson would score on the powerplay to give the Sabres the 1-0 lead. In the second period Christian Fischer and Patrick Kane would score to give the Wings the 2-1 lead. Then in the third period Daniel Sprong and Lucas Raymond would score to give the Red Wings the 4-1 victory over the Sabres, and end their losing streak.

Ottawa Senators v. New York Islanders – 12:30p ET
- On Long Island, the New York Islanders would look to keep their playoff hopes alive as they host the Ottawa Senators, and in the first period Matt Martin would score for the Isles to take the 1-0 lead. In the second period Brady Tkachuk would score for the Sens to tie the game at one, but Kyle Palmieri would score for the Isles to retake the lead. Then in the third period Ridly Greig and Tkachuk would score to give the Sens the 3-2 lead, but Bo Horvat would strike with 38 seconds left to tie the game at three for the Isles to force overtime. In the extra frame Tkachuk would complete the hat trick as he would score with 24 seconds left to give the Senators the 4-3 overtime victory over the Islanders.

New York Rangers v. Pittsburgh Penguins – 3p ET
- In Pittsburgh the New York Rangers would come to town to take on the Penguins, and in the first period John Ludvig and Bryan Rust would score for the Pens, but goals from Kaapo Kakko, Adam Fox, and Artemi Panarin would give the Rangers the 3-2 lead. In the second period Lars Eller would score to tie the game at three for the Pens, but Panarin’s second of the game and a tally from Mika Zibanejad would give the Rangers the 5-3 lead. Then in the third period Valtteri Puustinen would score for the Pens, but goals from K’Andre Miller and Chris Kreider would give the Rangers the 7-4 victory over the Penguins.

New Jersey Devils v. Arizona Coyotes – 5p ET
- In Arizona the Coyotes would face off with the New Jersey Devils, and in the first period JJ Moser, Dylan Guenther, and Logan Cooley would score to give the Yotes the 3-0 lead. In the second period Nick DeSimone would score to get the Devils on the board and back within two. Then in the third period Clayton Keller would score to give the Coyotes the 4-1 victory over the Devils.

Tampa Bay Lightning v. Florida Panthers – 6p ET
- The Florida Panthers would play host to the Tampa Bay Lightning for a Battle of Florida, and in the first period Steven Stamkos and Michael Eyssimont would score to give the Bolts the 2-0 lead. In the second period Darren Raddysh and Stamko would score to give Tampa the dominating 4-0 lead, but Matthew Tkachuk and Sam Reinhart would score to get the Panthers on the board back within two. Then in the third period Reinhart would net his second of the game for the Panthers, but Nikita Kucherov would score to give the Lightning the 5-3 victory over the Panthers.

Philadelphia Flyers v. Boston Bruins – 7p ET
- In Boston the Bruins would play host to the Philadelphia Flyers, and in the first period Ryan Poehling would strike for the Flyers, but later in the period Morgan Geekie would score to tie the game at one for the B’s. In the second period both teams would trade tallies again as Joel Farabee would score for the Flyers while Charlie Coyle would score for the B’s for the 2-2 tie. Then in the third period Nicolas Deslauriers, Morgan Frost, and Farabee would score for the Flyers, but Coyle would net his second of the game and John Beecher, Jake DeBrusk, and Danton Heinen would score to give the Bruins the 6-5 victory over the Flyers.

San Jose Sharks v. Columbus Blue Jackets – 7p ET
- In Columbus the Blue Jackets would go to battle with the San Jose Sharks, and in the first period Boone Jenner would score for the Jackets to give them the 1-0 lead. In the second period Alex Nylander would score to grow the Jackets lead to two, but Fabian Zetterlund would score to get the Sharks back within one. However, moments later Johnny Gaudreau would score to retake the two goal lead for the Jackets. Then in the third period Henry Thrun would score for the Sharks, but Nylander’s second of the game would give the Blue Jackets the 4-2 victory over the Sharks.

Montreal Canadiens v. Calgary Flames – 7p ET
- In Calgary for Hockey Night in Canada the Flames would play host to the Montreal Canadiens, and in the first period Mikael Backlund would score to give the Flames the 1-0 lead. In the second period Backlund would strike again and Martin Pospisil would score to grow the Flames lead to three, but goals from Cole Caufield and David Savard would get the Habs on the board and back within one. Then in the third period Nazem Kadri and Daniil Miromanov would score to give the Flames the 5-2 victory over the Canadiens.

Carolina Hurricanes v. Toronto Maple Leafs – 7p ET
- It’s St. Patrick’s Day early as the Toronto Maple Leafs would host the Carolina Hurricanes, and after a scoreless first period John Tavares, William Nylander, and Nick Robertson would score to give the Leafs the 3-0 lead, but goals from Jordan Martinook and Seth Jarvis would get the Canes back within one. Then in the third period David Kampf would score to give the Leafs the 4-2 lead, but Sebastian Aho would net a pair of goals to tie the game at four to send the game to overtime for the Canes. After a scoreless five minutes of extra hockey it would be Jake Guentzel with the winner to give the Hurricanes the 5-4 shootout comeback victory over the Maple Leafs.

Los Angeles Kings v. Dallas Stars – 8p ET
- In Dallas the Stars would honor Mike Modano as the Los Angeles Kings would come to town, and in the first period Thomas Harley, Craig Smith, and Wyatt Johnston would score to give the Stars the 3-0 lead. In the second period Jamie Benn would score to give the Stars the four goal lead. Then in the third period Kevin Fiala would score for the Kings, but it would not be enough as the Blues would hold on to defeat the Kings 4-1.

Minnesota Wild v. St. Louis Blues – 8p ET
- In St. Louis for a Central Division matchup the Blues would host the Minnesota Wild, and after a scoreless first period Jordan Kyrou would score to give the Blues the 1-0 lead. Then in the third period Brayden Schenn would score to grow the Blues lead to two, but goals from Marco Rossi and Kirill Kaprizov would tie the game at two for the Wild to send the game to overtime. After a scoreless five minutes of extra hockey, it would be Kyrou with the winner as the Blues would defeat the Wild 3-2 in the shootout.
