- The Vancouver Canucks announced that they have signed forward Elias Pettersson to a contract extension.
- Pettersson would sign an eight year deal with an AAV of $11.6 million.
- The contract also includes a full No Movement Clause.

- The NHL and NHLPA announced that Washington Capitals forward Evgeny Kuznetsov has been cleared to resume practicing with the team.
- Kuznetsov is now in the follow-up care phase of the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program.
- Kuznetsov has not been cleared to return to game action.

Game Recaps

Winnipeg Jets v. Carolina Hurricanes – 12:30p ET
- In an early afternoon matinee, the Carolina Hurricanes would play host to the Winnipeg Jets, and after a scoreless first period Martin Necas, Teuvo Teravainen, and Sebastian Aho would score to give the Canes the 3-0 lead. Then in the third period Kyle Connor, Mark Scheifele, and Sean Monahan would score, and Nino Niederreiter would net a pair of goals to give the Jets the 5-3 comeback victory over the Hurricanes.

Florida Panthers v. Detroit Red Wings – 3p ET
- In Detroit the Red Wings would play host to the Florida Panthers for a Saturday matinee, and after a scoreless first period Brandon Montour and Sam Reinhart would score to give the Panthers the 2-0 lead. Then in the third period Evan Rodrigues and Carter Verhaeghe would score to give the Panthers the 4-0 victory over the Red Wings.

Edmonton Oilers v. Seattle Kraken – 4p ET
- In Seattle the Kraken would play host to the Edmonton Oilers, and after a scoreless first period Leon Draisaitl would score to give the Oilers the 1-0 lead. Then in the second period Eeli Tolvanen would score for the Kraken, but a goal from Brett Kulak would give the Oilers the 2-1 victory over the Kraken.

Minnesota Wild v. St. Louis Blues – 6p
- In St. Louis the Blues would go to battle with the Minnesota Wild, and in the first period Alexey Toropchenko would score to give the Blues the 1-0 lead. In the second period Jon Merill would score to tie the game at one for the Wild, but Jake Neighbours would score to give the Blues their lead back. Then in the third period Torey Krug would get the empty net goal to give the Blues the 3-1 victory over the Wild.

Colorado Avalanche v. Nashville Predators – 6p ET
- In Nashville the Colorado Avalanche would come to town to take on the Predators, and in the first period Cody Glass would score to give the Preds the 1-0 lead, but Nathan MacKinnon would score to tie the game at one for the Avs. In the second period Glass would net his second of the game to give the Preds the 2-1 lead. Then in the third period Ryan O’Reilly and Tommy Novak would score and Glass would net his third to complete the hat trick as the Predators would dominate the Avalanche 5-1.

Vegas Golden Knights v. Buffalo Sabres – 7p ET
- In Buffalo the Sabres would take on the Vegas Golden Knights, and in the first period Jeff Skinner would score to give the Sabres the 1-0 lead. In the second period Brendan Brisson and William Karlsson would score for the Knights, but goals from Dylan Cozens and Zemgus Girgensons would keep the Sabres ahead by one. Then in the third period Kyle Okposo, Owen Power, Casey Mittelstadt, and Cozens would score to give the Sabres the dominating 7-2 victory over the Golden Knights.

Ottawa Senators v. Philadelphia Flyers – 7p ET
- In Philadelphia the Flyers would go to battle with the visiting Ottawa Senators, and in the first period Joel Farabee would score to give the Flyers the 1-0 lead. In the second period Vladimir Tarasenko would score for the Sens to tie the game at one, but Tyson Foerster would score to reclaim the lead for the Flyers and then he would strike on a penalty shot with 1.5 seconds left in the period to give them the 3-1 lead. Then in the third period Thomas Chabot would strike for the Sens, but Cam York would get the empty netter to give the Flyers the 4-2 victory over the Senators.

Montreal Canadiens v. Tampa Bay Lightning – 7p ET
- The Montreal Canadiens would come to Tampa Bay to take on the Lightning, and in the first period Joel Armia and Jake Evans would score to give the Habs the 2-0 lead. In the second period Brayden Point and Anthony Cirelli would score to tie the game at two for the Bolts. Then in the third period Cole Caufield would strike for the Habs while Tyler Motte would score for the Bolts for the 3-3 tie to require overtime. After a scoreless extra five minutes of hockey it would be Victor Hedman with the winner as the Lightning would defeat the Canadiens 4-3 in the shootout.

New York Rangers v. Toronto Maple Leafs – 7p ET
- For Hockey Night in Canada the Toronto Maple Leafs would play host to their Original Six rival New York Rangers, and in the first period Alexis Lafreniere would score to give the Rangers the 1-0 lead. In the second period Vincent Trocheck would score for the Rangers, but goals from Mitch Marner and William Nylander would tie the game at two for the Leafs. Then in the third period John Tavares would score for the Leafs, but Trocheck would net his second of the game to tie the game at three for the Rangers to force overtime. After a scoreless overtime period it would be Max Domi with the shootout winner to give the Maple Leafs the 4-3 victory over the Rangers.

Boston Bruins v. New York Islanders – 7:30p ET
- On Long Island the Boston Bruins would come and visit the New York Islanders, and in the first period Kyle Palmieri would record the natural hat trick to give the Isles the 3-0 lead. In the second period Anders Lee and Brock Nelson would score to grow the Isles lead to five, but Marc McLaughlin would score to get the B’s on the board. Then it would be a scoreless third period as the Islanders would hold on to defeat the Bruins 5-1.

Columbus Blue Jackets v. Chicago Blackhawks – 8p ET
- In Chicago the Blackhawks would go to battle with the Columbus Blue Jackets, and in the first period Alexandre Texier and Boone Jenner would score to give the Jackets the 2-0 lead, but Philipp Kurashev would score to get the Blackhawks on the board and back within one. In the second period Mathieu Oliver and Cole Sillinger would score to give the Jackets the 4-1 lead. Then in the third period Ryan Donato would score for the Blackhawks, but Johnny Gaudreau would score to give the Blue Jackets the 5-2 victory over the Blackhawks.

San Jose Sharks v. Dallas Stars – 8p ET
- In Dallas the Stars would faceoff with the San Jose Sharks, and in the first period William Eklund would score to give the Sharks the 1-0 lead. In the second period Radek Faksa would tie the game at one for the Stars, but Filip Zadina would score fort he Sharks to retake the lead. Then in the third period Jason Robertson would score to tie the game at two for the Stars to force overtime. After a scoreless five minutes of extra hockey it would be Jamie Benn with the shootout winner to give the Stars the 3-2 victory over the Sharks.
