  • The IIHF announced that both Russia and Belarus will not be participating in the 2024-25 IIHF Championship season.

  • The NHL Department of Player Safety announced that they have suspended Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly.
    • Rielly has been suspended for 5 games for cross checking Ottawa Senators forward Ridly Greig.
    • Rielly will forfeit $195,312.50 based on his average annual salary per the CBA.

Tampa Bay Lightning v. Boston Bruins – 7p ET

  • In Boston for a busy night in the NHL the Bruins would play host to the Tampa Bay Lightning, and in the first period Erik Cernak would net his first of the season for the Bolts to take the 1-0 lead. In the second period Nikita Kucherov would score to grow the Bolts lead to two, but goals from Charlie McAvoy and James van Riemsdyk would tie the game at two for the B’s. Then after a scoreless third period and extra five minutes of hockey, it would be Brayden Point with the winner in the shootout as the Lightning would defeat the Bruins 3-2.

Los Angeles Kings v. Buffalo Sabres – 7p ET

  • In Buffalo the Los Angeles Kings would come to town to face the Sabres, and in the first period JJ Peterka, Jordan Greenway, and Kyle Okposo would score to give the Sabres the 3-0 lead. In the second period Rasmus Dahlin and Zach Benson would score to grow the Sabres dominate lead to five. Then in the third period Alex Tuch and Jordan Greenway would strike to give the Sabres the 7-0 victory over the Kings.

Anaheim Ducks v. Montreal Canadiens – 7p ET

  • In Montreal the Canadiens would faceoff with the Anaheim Ducks, and after a scoreless first period Jake Evans would score and Nick Suzuki would net a pair of goals to give the Habs the 3-0 lead. Then in the third period Juraj Slafkovsky and Brandon Gignac would score to give the Canadiens the dominating 5-0 victory over the Ducks.

Columbus Blue Jackets v. Ottawa Senators – 7p ET

  • In Ottawa the Columbus Blue Jackets would come to town to battle the Senators, and in the first period Dmitri Voronkov would strike for the Jackets, but a pair of goals from Brady Tkachuk and a goal from Claude Giroux would give the Sens the 3-1 lead. In the second period Boone Jenner and Jack Roslovic would score for the Jackets, but goals from Ridly Greig and Tkachuk, to complete the hat trick, would give the Sens the 5-3 lead. Then in the third period Thomas Chabot would score to give the Senators the 6-3 victory over the Blue Jackets.

St. Louis Blues v. Toronto Maple Leafs – 7p ET

  • In Toronto the Maple Leafs would take on the St. Louis Blues, and in the first period Bobby McMann and William Nylander would score to give the Leafs the 2-0 lead. In the second period Alexey Toropchenko would get the Blues back within one. Then in the third period McMann would net two more goals to complete the hat trick as the Maple Leafs would go on to defeat the Blues 4-1.

Colorado Avalanche v. Washington Capitals – 7p ET

  • In Washington the Colorado Avalanche look to sweep the Capitals, and in the first period Ross Colton and Devon Toews would score to give the Avs the 2-0 lead, but goals from Beck Malenstyn and Connor McMichael would tie the game at two for the Caps. In the third period Artturi Lehkonen and Mikko Rantanen would score to give the Avs the 4-2 lead. Then in the third period Alex Ovechkin would score to extend his goal scoring streak to six for the Caps to get back within one, but empty net goals from Lehkonen and Miles Wood would give the Avalanche the 6-3 victory over the Capitals.

Seattle Kraken v. New York Islanders – 730p ET

  • On Long Island the Seattle Kraken would come to town to faceoff with the New York Islanders, and in the first period Matty Beniers would score for the Kraken to take the 1-0 lead. In the second period Kyle Palmieri would strike for the Isles to tie the game at one. Then after a scoreless third period and overtime, it would be Tomas Tatar with the winner in the shootout as the Kraken would defeat the Islanders 2-1.
