We’d finally get to see the Stadium Series jerseys for the Flyers, Devils, Rangers, and Islanders, and the Sharks unveiled their new alternates.

News

  • The NHL unveiled the uniforms for the 2024 Stadium Series games featuring the Philadelphia Flyers vs. New Jersey Devils and New York Rangers vs. New York Islanders on Feb. 17th and 18th.

  • The NHL Department of Player Safety announced that they have fined Arizona Coyotes defenseman Michael Kesselring.
    • Kesselring would be fined $2,408.85 for cross checking Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Maxwell Crozier on Thursday night.
    • The fine is the maximum allowed per the CBA.

  • The Philadelphia Flyers announced that they have signed forward Owen Tippett to an extenstion.
    • Tippett would sign an eight year deal with an AAV of $6.2 million per season.

  • The NHL Department of Player Safety announced that they have suspended Montreal Canadiens forward Brendan Gallagher.
    • Gallagher would be suspended for five games for an illegal check to the head of New York Islanders defenseman Adam Pelech on Thursday night.
    • Gallagher will forfeit $169,270.85 per the CBA and based on his average annual salary.

  • The Colorado Avalanche signed forward Zach Parise.
    • Parise would sign a one year contract.

Game Recaps

Vegas Golden Knights v. New York Rangers – 7p ET

  • At Madison Square Garden the New York Rangers would play host to the Vegas Golden Knights, and in the first period Sheldon Rempal would score for the Knights while Blake Wheeler would score for the Rangers for the 1-1 tie. In the second period Keegan Kolesar and Jonathan Marchessault would score to give the Knights the 3-1 lead. Then in the third period Kaapo Kakko would score for the Rangers, but Marchessault would net a pair of goals to complete the hat trick and give the Golden Knights the 5-2 victory over the Rangers.

Florida Panthers v. Pittsburgh Penguins – 7p ET

  • In Pittsburgh the Florida Panthers would come to town to take on the Penguins, and in the first period Jake Guentzel would score for the Pens, but Evan Rodrigues would strike for the Panthers to tie the game at one. In the second period Sam Reinhart would score to give the Panther the 2-1 lead. Then in the third period Evgeni Malkin would score to tie the game at two for the Pens to force overtime. After a scoreless five minutes of extra hockey Reinhart would net the winner as the Panthers would defeat the Penguins 3-2 in the shootout.
