Today the National Hockey League announced their Three Stars of the Week for the week of December 18th through 24th.
First Star – Kirill Kaprizov (LW – MIN)
- Kirill Kaprizov would record four goals and three assists for seven points in four games played for the Minnesota Wild, and to open up his week he would record an assist in a 4-3 loss to Pittsburgh on Dec. 18th. On Dec. 19th Kaprizov would record two goals in a 4-3 overtime victory over Boston, and on Dec. 21st he would record a goal and two assists in a 4-3 victory over Montreal. Then to close out his week Kaprizov would score a goal in a 3-2 victory over Boston on Dec. 23rd.


Second Star – Mika Zibanejad (C – NYR)
- Mika Zibanejad would also record four goals and three assists for seven points, but in three games played for the New York Rangers, and he would open his week with two goals in a 5-2 victory over Toronto on Dec. 19th. Then on Dec. 22nd he would record a goal and an assist in a 4-3 loss to Edmonton, but Zibanejad would close out the week with a goal and two assists in a 4-3 overtime victory over Buffalo on Dec. 23rd.


Third Star – Patrick Kane (RW – DET)
- Patrick Kane would lead the League with four goals and four assists for eight points in four games played for the Detroit Red Wings. Kane would open his week with two assists in a 4-3 loss to Anaheim on Dec. 18th, and on Dec. 20th he would record a goal and an assist in a 5-2 loss to Winnipeg. Then on Dec. 22nd Kane would record two goals, an assist, and the shootout winner in a 7-6 victory over Philadelphia, and to close out his week Kane would score a goal in a 3-2 loss to New Jersey on Dec. 23rd.
