News

  • The NHL would name Vancouver Canucks forward Elias Pettersson First Star of the Week. 
    • Blake Coleman (CAL) and Alexander Georgiev (COL) would round out the rest of the Three Stars.
  • NHL Stars of the Week – Pettersson Earns Top Honors

  • The NHL and NHLPA announced that Colorado Avalanche forward Valeri Nichushkin has entered the Player Assistance Program.
    • Nichushkin will be unavailable to the Avalanche for an indefinite period while he receives care.

San Jose Sharks v. Buffalo Sabres – 12p ET

  • After having game time bumped up due to weather, the Buffalo Sabres would host the San Jose Sharks, and after a scoreless first period Casey Mittelstadt and Alex Tuch would score to give the Sabres the 2-0 lead. Then in the third period Jordan Greenway would score to give the Sabres the 3-0 victory over the Sharks. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen would stop all 27 shots faced to earn the shutout.

New Jersey Devils v. Boston Bruins – 1p ET

  • In Boston the Bruins would play host to the New Jersey Devils, and after a scoreless first period Charlie Coyle would score to give the B’s the 1-0 lead. Then in the third period David Pastrnak and Trent Frederic would score to give the Bruins the 3-0 victory over the Devils. Jeremy Swayman would make 31 saves for the shutout.

Vancouver Canucks v. Columbus Blue Jackets – 1p ET

  • In Columbus the Blue Jackets would play host to the Vancouver Canucks, and in the first period JT Miller and Yegor Chinakhov would trade goals for the Canucks and Jackets respectively, but later in the period Conor Garland would score to give the Canucks the 2-1 lead. In the second period Dmitri Voronkov would score to tie the game at two for the Jackets, but Elias Pettersson would score to give the Canucks the 3-2 lead. Then in the third period Voronkov would score his second of the game to tie the game at three for the Jackets and force overtime. After a scoreless five minutes of extra hockey, it would be Kirill Marchenko with the winner in the shootout to give the Blue Jackets the 4-3 victory over the Canucks.

Anaheim Ducks v. Florida Panthers – 1p ET

  • In Florida for a battle between 1993 expansion siblings the Panthers would play host to the Anaheim Ducks, and in the first period Sam Bennett and Sam Reinhart would score for the Panthers to take the 2-0 lead, but Alex Killorn would score to get the Ducks on the board and back within one. In the second period Adam Henrique and Jakob Silfverberg would score for the Ducks, but goals from Carter Verhaeghe and Bennett would give the Panthers the 4-3 lead. Then in the third period Troy Terry would score to tie the game at four for the Ducks to force overtime. In the extra frame Killorn would net his second of the game to give the Ducks the 5-4 victory over the Panthers.

Seattle Kraken v. Pittsburgh Penguins – 1p ET

  • Another game that would have their time bumped up to an earlier time due to weather, the Pittsburgh Penguins would host the Seattle Kraken, and after a scoreless first period Drew O’Connor and Sidney Crosby would score to give the Pens the 2-0 lead. Then in the third period Crosby would record his second of the game to give the Penguins the 3-0 victory over the Kraken. Tristan Jarry would make 21 saves for the shutout.

Los Angeles Kings v. Carolina Hurricanes – 3p ET

  • In Carolina the Hurricanes would induct Justin Williams into their Hall of Fame as the Los Angeles Kings come to town, and in the first period Trevor Moore would score to give the Kings the 1-0 lead. In the second period Jordan Martinook would score to tie the game at one for the Canes. Then in the third period Jack Drury would score for the Canes, but Phillip Danault, Alexis Laferriere, Pierre-Luc Dubois, and Moore would score to give the Kings the 5-2 victory over the Hurricanes.

New York Islanders v. Minnesota Wild – 6p ET

  • In Minnesota the Wild would play host to the New York Islanders, and in the first period Mats Zuccarello would score to give the Wild the 10 lead. In the second period Connor Dewar and Joel Eriksson Ek would score to grow the Wild’s lead to three. Then in the third period Eriksson Ek would net his second of the game and Marcus Foligno would score to give the Wild the 5-0 victory over the Islanders. Marc-andre Fleury would make 21 saves to earn the shutout and his 552nd career NHL win to move into second all time.

Nashville Predators v. Vegas Golden Knights – 6p ET

  • In Vegas the Nashville Predators would come to town to take on the Golden Knights, and in the first period Mark Stone would score to give the Knights the 1-0 lead. In the second period Luke Evangelista would strike for the Preds, but Stone would net two more goals to complete the hat trick for the Knights to take the 3-1 lead. Then in the third period Chandler Stephenson would score to give the Golden Knights the 4-1 victory over the Predators.

Colorado Avalanche v. Montreal Canadiens – 7p ET

  • In Montreal the Canadiens would go to battle with the Colorado Avalanche, and in the first period Ross Colton would score for the Avs while Juraj Slafkovsky would score for the Habs for the 1-1 tie. In the second period both teams would trade goals again as Cale Makar would score for the Avs while Rafael Harvey-Pinard would score for the Habs for the 2-2 tie. Then in the third period both teams would trade goals again as Cole Caufield would score for the Habs while Devon Toews would score for the Avs for the 3-3 tie, but a tally from Joel Armia would give the Canadiens the 4-3 victory over the Avalanche.

Philadelphia Flyers v. St. Louis Blues – 8p ET

  • In St. Louis the Blues would take on the Philadelphia Flyers, and after a scoreless first period Oskar Sundqvist would score for the Blues, but goals from Scott Laughton and Ryan Poehling would give the Flyers the 2-1 lead. Then in the third period Brandon Saad would score to tie the game at two for the Blues, but Owen Tippett and Joel Farabee would score to give the Flyers the 4-2 victory over the Blues.
