  • The Montreal Canadiens announced that forward Alex Newhook is out due to injury.
    • Newhook will miss 10-12 weeks due to a high ankle sprain.

  • Per Elliotte Friedman of SportsNet, the Nashville Predators have granted defenseman Tyson Barrie permission to speak with other teams.
    • Barrie will be a UFA at the end of the season.

  • The Washington Capitals recalled goaltender Hunter Shepard from Hershey of the AHL.

Tampa Bay Lightning v. Dallas Stars – 2p ET

  • In Dallas the Stars would look to blackout the Tampa Bay Lightning, and in the first period Tyler Seguin, Jason Robertson, and Jamie Benn would strike to give the Stars the 3-0 lead, but Victor Hedman would score on the powerplay to get the Bolts on the board. In the second period Mason Marchment and Joe Pavelski would score and Robertson would net his second of the game to give the Stars a commanding five goal lead. Then in the third period Thomas Harley and Sam Steel would score to cap off the Stars 8-1 stomping over the Lightning.

Chicago Blackhawks v. Winnipeg Jets – 3p ET

  • In Winnipeg the Jets would play host to the Chicago Blackhawks, and in the first period Connor Bedard would score his 11th of the season to give the Blackhawks the 1-0 lead, but Mark Scheifele would score on the powerplay to tie the game at one for the Jets. In the second period Morgan Barron would score to give the Jets the 2-1 lead. Then in the third period Cole Perfetti would score to give the Jets the 3-1 victory over the Blackhawks.

New York Rangers v. Nashville Predators – 430p ET

  • In Nashville the Predators would take on the New York Rangers, and in the first period Ryan O’Reilly and Roman Josi would score to give the Preds the 2-0 lead. In the second period Colton Sissons would score for the Preds, but goals from Jacob Trouba, Chris Kreider, and Vincent Trocheck would tie the game at three for the Rangers. Then in the third period Ryan Lindgren would score his first of the season to give the Rangers the 4-3 victory over the Predators.

New York Islanders v. Florida Panthers – 6p ET

  • In Florida the New York Islanders would come to town to take on the Panthers, and in the first period both teams would trade tallies as Anders Lee would score for the Isles while Sam Reinhart would score for the Panthers for the 1-1 tie. In the second period Pierre Engvall and Simon Holmstrom would score to give the Isles the 3-1 lead, but a goal by Matthew Tkachuk would get the Panthers back within one. Then in the third period Carter Verhaeghe would strike for the Panthers, but Julien Gauthier’s first of the season would give the Islanders the 4-3 victory over the Panthers.

Buffalo Sabres v. Carolina Hurricanes – 7p ET

  • In Carolina the Hurricanes would look to take down the Buffalo Sabres, and in the first period Sebastian Aho and Jack Drury would score to give the Canes the 2-0 lead. In the second period Aho would net his second of the game and both Stefan Noesen and Teuvo Teravainen would score to give the Canes the five goal lead. Then in the third period Casey Mittelstadt and Tyson Jost would score for the Sabres, but a Brady Skjei tally would give the Hurricanes the 6-2 victory over the Sabres.

Detroit Red Wings v. Montreal Canadiens – 7p ET

  • In Montreal for the first of our two Original Six Hockey Night in Canada matchups the Canadiens would host the Detroit Red Wings, and in the firs period Joe Veleno, Christian Fischer, and Daniel Sprong would score to give the Wings the 3-0 lead, but Justin Barron would score to get the Habs on the board with seven seconds left in the period. In the second period Joel Armia would score to get the Habs back within one, but Alex DeBrincat would score to retake the two goal lead for the Wings. then in the third period Nick Suzuki and Gustav Lindstrom would score for the Habs to tie the game at four and force overtime. In the extra frame Jake Walman would score to give the Red Wings the 5-4 overtime victory over the Canadiens.

Seattle Kraken v. Ottawa Senators – 7p ET

  • In Ottawa the Senators would take on the Seattle Kraken, and in the first period Mathieu Joseph would score to give the Sens the 1-0 lead. Then in the second period Drake Batherson would score to give the Senators the 2-0 victory over the Kraken. Anton Forsberg would stop all 39 shots faced for the shutout victory.

Philadelphia Flyers v. Pittsburgh Penguins – 7p ET

  • In Pittsburgh for the Battle of Pennsylvania the Penguins would play host to the Philadelphia Flyers, and after a scoreless first period Kris Letang would strike for the Pens to take the 1-0 lead, but Owen Tippett would strike for the Flyers to tie the game at one. In the third period both teams would record a pair of goals as Jake Guentzel would net two goals for the Pens and the Flyers would get goals from Scott Laughton and Tyson Foerester for the 3-3 tie. Then after a scoreless overtime period it would be Sean Couturier with the winner in the shootout as the Flyers would go on to defeat the Penguins 4-3.

Boston Bruins v. Toronto Maple Leafs – 7p ET

  • In Toronto for our other Original Six Hockey Night in Canada matchup the Boston Bruins would come to town to face the Maple Leafs, and in the first period David Pastrnak would score to give the B’s the 1-0 lead. In the second period Kevin Shattenkirk would score his first as a Bruin to give them the 2-0 lead, but Auston Matthews would score to get the Leafs back within one. Then in the third period Trent Frederic would strike for the B’s, but Max Domi would score his first as a Leaf and Matthews would net his second of the game to tie the game at three for the Leafs to send this game to overtime. In the extra frame Brad Marchand would score to give the Bruins the 4-3 overtime victory over the Maple Leafs.
