- The NHL announced that they have named Edmonton Oilers forward Connor McDavid as the First Star of the Week,
- Nikita Kucherov (TB) and Juuse Saros (NAS) would round out the rest of the Three Stars.

- The NHL Department of Player Safety announced that they have suspended Minnesota Wild forward Ryan Hartman.
- Hartman was suspended for two games for tripping Detroit Red Wings forward Alex DeBricat on Sunday.
- Hartman will forfeit $41,463.42 based on his average annual salary per the CBA, and is also considered a repeat offender per the CBA as well.

- The Minnesota Wild announced that they have relieved head coach Dean Evason and assistant coach Bob Woods of their duties.

- The NHL announced that the 2024 All Star Weekend will be three days and will begin with All Star Thursday on February 1st, 2024.
- At 6p ET on ESPN and SportsNet will be the Return of the All Star Player Draft.
- Then at 7p ET on ESPN+ and SportsNet will be the NHL Alumni Man of the Year as the 1967 Toronto Maple Leafs will be honored.
- Then to close out the evening at 9p will be the PWHL 3 on 3 Showcase.
The 2024 #NHLAllStar Weekend will be expanded to a three-day event, which will feature “NHL All-Star Thursday” on Feb. 1.

Game Recaps

Boston Bruins v. Columbus Blue Jackets – 7p ET
- In Columbus, the Blue Jackets hosted the Bruins and in the first Columbus took the 1-0 lead with a goal from Dmitri Voronokov, his fourth of the year. In the second, Columbus got a pair from Ivan Provorov, scoring his second of the year, and Yegor Chinakhov, also scoring his second, to take the 3-0 lead. In the third, a power play goal from Kirill Marchenko put the Blue Jackets up 4-0 but then Boston finally got on the board with Matthew Poitras fifth goal of the season. Columbus then re-took the four goal lead with an empty netter from Justin Danforth but Boston responded when John Beecher netted his fourth of the year. However, Columbus held on as the Blue Jackets defeated the Bruins 5-2.

Buffalo Sabres v. New York Rangers – 7p ET
- In New York City, the Rangers hosted the Sabres and in the first, Buffalo took the 1-0 lead when JJ Peterka scored his ninth of the year. In the second, Alex Tuch’s seventh goal of the year put the Sabres up 2-0. In the third, a power play goal from Mika Zibanejad got the Rangers on the board but then Alex Tuch’s second of the night gave Buffalo the two goal lead back. Then, an empty netter from Casey Mittlestadt put Buffalo up three and then Kyle Okposo sealed the game with his third of the year as the Sabres dominated the Rangers 5-1.

Florida Panthers v. Ottawa Senators – 7p ET
- In the Canadian capital, the Senators hosted the Panthers and in the first, Sam Reinhart scored a power play goal to give Florida the 1-0 lead. In the second, Sam Reinhart scored his second goal of the night, also on the power play to put the Cats up 2-0 and then Sam Bennett scored a power play goal of his own to give Florida the 3-0 lead. In the third, a major fracas broke out with penalties being doled out between both squads. Calmer heads prevailed for the time being when Carter Verhaeghe scored his ninth of the year to put the Panthers up 4-0. Then, at 12:38, there was even more chaos as another fracas broke out following matching roughing penalties, as well as an Ottawa goaltender interference penalty, and misconduct penalties totaling 106 minutes alone. Then, just shy of two minutes after the fracas, another set of matching misconduct penalties were doled out and then finally cooler heads prevailed with the game clincher from Eetu Luostarinen as the Panthers dominated the Senators for the 5-0 shutout win.
