The Washington Capitals host the Colorado Avalanche as they continue with their six game homestand. The Capitals will look to build off of their 3-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks the other night. The Avalanche will be looking to avoid their fifth straight loss.

1. Depth needs to produce

The biggest knock on the Avalanche is that they are a one line team, and will need to get production from their bottom nine forwards and from their defense

1. Get a good start

A good start goes a long way and it helped the Capitals the other night as they were able to get an early first period goal to set the tone for the game. If the Capitals can strike early again, then this could be another strong game for the Capitals.
