Keys to Winning against Carolina:
- Make good decisions
- Carolina is a young team with some speed and a chip on their shoulder. If you think you can railroad them you will lose. Make good passes, be strong in the neutral zone and respect the ability of some of their young guns.
- Get in McElhinney’s head
- While I’m very happy for McElhinney, we can’t allow him to get into a groove. Because as Leafs have seen first hand where Mac gets going this could become a very long game for Leafs shooters.
- Puck Possession
- Make Carolina work hard to get the puck. Don’t give them any easy shots.
