Florida Panthers v. Carolina Hurricanes – 8p ET – Game 1

  • In Carolina for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Final, the Hurricanes look to snap their 12 game losing streak in the Conference Finals as they host the Florida Panthers, and in the first period, Carter Verhaeghe would open up the scoring for the Panthers on the powerplay to give them the 1-0 lead, and Aaron Ekblad’s third of the playoffs would grow the Panthers lead to two. However, with 14.8 seconds left in the period, Sebastian Aho would score to get the Hurricanes back within one. In the second period, AJ Greer scored 3:33 into the period to give the Panthers the two goal lead back. In the third period Sam Bennett would strike on the powerplay while Eetu Luostarinen would score to give the Panthers the commanding 5-1 lead, and while Jackson Blake scored late in the game while on the powerplay for the Hurricanes, the Panthers would take Game 1 5-2 for the 1-0 series lead.
