    • The Washington Capitals announced that Alex Ovechkin and the MSE Foundation will be doing the Gr802 Auction.
      • The proceeds will benefit the MSE Foundation and will be used to fund an Alex Ovechkin Legacy Ball Hockey Rink in the region.

    • Zach Hyman is using his platforms to support SickKids and UJA (United Jewish Appeal) Federation through his Hyman Family Foundation.

    Buffalo Sabres v. Boston Bruins – 7p ET

    • In Beantown, the Bruins welcomed the Sabres back to Boston and after a scoreless first, Buffalo got on the board when JJ Peterka scored his 11th of the season. Then, Tage Thompson scored his seventh of the year to put the Sabres up two. Brad Marchand then scored his 12th of the year to get the Bruins on the board. In the third, Victor Olofsson then scored his fourth of the the year as the Sabres downed the Bruins 3-1.

    San Jose Sharks v. Detroit Red Wings – 7p ET

    • In the Motor City, Patrick Kane took the ice for the first time in a Detroit sweater as the Red Wings welcomed the Sharks for their annual visit. After a scoreless first, Detroit got four goals when Klim Kostin scored his second of the year, Michael Rasmussen notched a pair, and then Lucas Raymond scored his ninth of the year. Then, San Jose responded with four goals of their own when Tomas Hertl scored his eighth and Fabian Zetterlund also scored his eighth, both goals of which came shorthanded, and then Nico Sturm scored a pair to make this an even game. In the third, Dylan Larkin’s 11th of the year put Detroit back up but then Tomas Hertl scored his second of the night to tie the game for San Jose. In overtime, Mikael Granlund’s third of the year lifted the Sharks to the 6-5 win over the Red Wings.

    Los Angeles Kings v. Montreal Canadiens – 7p ET

    • In Montreal, the Kings took the trip to take on the Canadiens and in the first, Los Angeles took the lead when Drew Doughty scored his seventh of the year and then Quinton Byfield scored his seventh of the year to give the Kings the 2-0 lead. In the second, Quinton Byfield’s power play goal gave Los Angeles the 3-0 lead. In the third, Trevor Moore’s 13th of the year sealed the game as the Kings shutout the Canadiens 4-0.

    Toronto Maple Leafs v. Ottawa Senators – 7p ET

    • In the Canadian capital, the Maple Leafs took on the Senators and in the first, Ottawa took the 1-0 with Josh Norris’ sixth of the year. In the second, Toronto tied the game when Mitchell Marner scored his ninth of the year and then the Maple Leafs took the lead with David Kampf’s second of the year. In the third, Calle Jarnkrok’s sixth of the year put Toronto up two but then Ottawa brought it within a goal when Jacob Bernard-Docker scored his first career NHL goal. Then, William Nylander scored his 13th of the year to put Toronto back up two but Ottawa’s Claude Giroux scored his eighth of the year. Despite the late goal from Ottawa, the Maple Leafs held on for the 4-3 win over the Senators.

    Columbus Blue Jackets v. New York Islanders – 730p ET

    • In Long Island, the Islanders hosted the Blue Jackets and in the first, Pierre Engvall scored his fourth of the year to put New York up 1-0. In the second, Emil Bemstrom scored his fourth of the year to tie the contest for Columbus and then Adam Fantilli scored his sixth to put the Jackets up a goal. Then, Cal Clutterbuck’s fourth of the year tied the contest for New York and then Mathew Barzal scored his eighth of the year to give the Isles the lead back. Then, Kyle Palmieri scored a power play goal, his seventh of the year, to give New York the 4-2 lead. In the third, Adam Fantilli scored his second of the night to bring Columbus within a goal but then Mathew Barzal scored his second of the night to give New York the 5-3 lead. Then, Bo Horvat scored a pair to give the Islanders the 7-3 win over the Blue Jackets.

    Dallas Stars v. Washington Capitals – 8p ET

    • In the Nation’s Capital, the Stars returned to Washington to take on the Capitals. In the first, Washington took the 1-0 lead Aliaksei Protas scored his third of the year and then Tyler Seguin got Dallas on the board with his ninth of the year. In the second, Dylan Strome scored his ninth of the year to put Washington back up a goal and then Evgeny Kuznetsov netted his fifth of the year to give the Caps the two goal lead. Then, Mason Marchment got his ninth of the year to bring the Stars within a goal. In the third, Roope Hintz scored a power play goal, his ninth of the year, to tie the game for Dallas but then Dylan Strome scored his second of the night on the power play, also his 100th career NHL goal. Then, Roope Hintz went on to score his second of the night as the Stars tied the game. After a scoreless overtime, Jason Robertson scored the lone goal in the shootout as the Stars downed the Capitals 5-4.

    Tampa Bay Lightning v. Nashville Predators – 8p ET

    • In Music City, the Predators hosted the Lightning for the lone time on the year and in the first Tampa took the 1-0 lead when Alex Barré-Boulet scored his fifth of the year but then Juuso Parssinen scored his fifth on a Nashville power play to tie the game. In the second, Filip Forsberg gave Nashville the lead wiht his 14th of the year and then Ryan McDonagh scored his first of the year to put the Preds up two. In the third, Roman Josi scored his sixth of the year to give Nashville the three goal lead and then Yakov Trenin’s sixth of the year gave the Predators the 5-1 win over the Lightning.

      • Walman was fined $2,500 for high sticking Buffalo Sabres forward Jeff Skinner on Tuesday night.

    • The Ottawa Senators announced that they have appointed Jacques Martin as Senior Advisor to the Coaching Staff.
      • Martin spent nine seasons (Jan. 24th, 1996 – April 2004) behind Ottawa’s bench and posted a 341-255-96 (.562) regular-season record with the franchise.

    • The Buffalo Sabres and Columbus Blue Jackets would make a trade.
      • The Sabres would acquire forward Eric Robinson.
      • The Blue Jackets would acquire a conditional 2025 7th Round Pick.

    Dallas Stars v. Florida Panthers – 7p ET

    • In Florida the Panthers would play host to the Dallas Stars, and in the first period Radek Faksa would score for the Stars, but the Panthers would get goals from Evan Rodrigues and Sam Reinhart would give the Panthers the 2-1 lead. In the second period Carter Verhaeghe would score to grow the Panthers lead to two. Then in the third period the Stars would get goals from Mason Marchment, Evgenii Dadonov, and Thomas Harley, but goals from Aleksander Barkov and Rodrigues would give the Panthers the 5-4 victory over the Stars.

    • In Columbus the Blue Jackets would look to knock the shine off of the Los Angeles Kings, and in the first period Kirill Marchenko would strike on the powerplay to give the Jackets the 1-0 lead. In the second period Johnny Gaudreau and Mathieu Olivier would score to grow the Jackets lead to three. Then in the third period Phillip Danault would score a pair of goals and Arthur Kaliyev would score for the Kings to tie the game at three and force overtime. In the extra frame Drew Doughty would score to complete the comeback as the Kings would defeat the Blue Jackets 4-3 in overtime.

    • In the Battle of the Keystone State, the Flyers hosted the Penguins and in the first Pittsburgh took the 1-0 lead when Sidney Crosby scored his 15th of the year. In the second, Philadelphia tied it up when Tyson Foerster scored his fifth of the year. After a scoreless third, Sean Couturier scored the game winner, his sixth goal of the year, as the Flyers downed the Penguins 2-1.

    • In Montreal, the Canadiens hosted the Kraken for the lone time on the year and in the first, Sean Monahan scored his seventh of the year to put Montreal up 1-0. In the second, Montreal got a pair when Tanner Pearson scored his fourth and then Sean Monahan got his second of the night on a Canadiens power play. Then, Jared McCann got Seattle on the board with his 12th of the year. In the third, the Kraken got within a goal when Vince Dunn scored his fourth of the year on the power play but Josh Anderson scored an empty net goal, his first goal of the season, as the Canadiens downed the Kraken 4-2.

    Carolina Hurricanes v. Winnipeg Jets – 730p ET

    • In Winnipeg, the Jets honoured the Royal Canadiens Air Force while hosting the Hurricanes. In the first, Kyle Connor scored his 15th of the year to put the Jets up 1-0. In the second, Winnipeg took the 2-0 lead with Nikolaj Ehlers’ seventh of the year but Martin Necas scored his seventh of the year to put Carolina on the board. With a scoreless third, the Jets held on to down the Hurricanes for the 2-1 win.

    NHL Stars of the Week – Ingram Stays Hot for Top Honors

    Today the National Hockey League announced their Three Stars of the Week for the week of November 27th through December 3rd.

    First Star – Connor Ingram (G – ARI)

    • Connor Ingram would go a perfect 3-0-0 with a 1.63 goals against average and a .947 save percentage for the Arizona Coyotes. Ingram would open up his week with a 30 save 3-1 victory over Tampa Bay on Nov. 28th, and then would make 28 saves in a 4-3 overtime victory over Colorado on Nov. 30th. Then to close out the week Ingram would make 31 saves in a 4-1 victory over St. Louis on Dec. 2nd.

    Second Star – Mathew Barzal (C – NYI)

    • Mathew Barzal would play in two of the three games for the New York Islanders, and he would record two goals and five assists for seven points. To kick off his week Barzal would record a goal and two assists in a 5-4 loss to New Jersey on Nov. 28th. Then on Nov. 30th against Carolina he would record a goal and three assists in a 5-4 overtime victory. Barzal did not play in the Islanders game on Saturday, Dec. 2nd against Florida.

    Third Star – Jack Hughes (C – NJ)

    • Jack Hughes would record three goals and four assists for seven points in three games played for the New Jersey Devils. To start off his week Hughes would record a goal and two assists in a 5-4 victory over the New York Islanders on Nov. 28th, and on Nov. 30th he would also record a goal and two assists in a 4-3 victory over Philadelphia. Hughes would close out the week with a goal in a 6-3 loss to San Jose on Dec. 1st.

    • The NHL Department of Player Safety announced that they have fined Colorado Avalanche forward Ross Colton.
      • Colton was fined $5,000 for a dangerous trip on Anaheim Ducks forward Leo Carlsson on Saturday night.
      • The fine is the maximum allowed per the CBA.

    PWHL News

    • There were a trio of signings by Minnesota that were announced on Friday.
      • Minnesota would sign forward Denisa Krizova to a two year deal.

      • Forward Brittyn Fleming would sign a one year deal.

      • Forward Sophia Kunin would also sign a one year deal with Minnesota.

    Chicago Blackhawks v. Minnesota Wild – 2p ET

    • In the State of Hockey, the Wild hosted their divisional rivals in the Blackhawks and in the first Minnesota got a trio of goals when Marco Rossi scored a pair and then Mats Zuccarello notched a goal. In the second, Matt Boldy scored his third to extend the Minnesota lead to four. In the third, Chicago got on the board when Taylor Raddysh scored his fourth but the Wild went on to get the 4-1 win over the Blackhawks.

    • In New York City, the Rangers plated host for the Sharks for the lone time on the year and in the first San Jose took the 1-0 lead when Anthony Duclair scored his sixth of the year but then Artemi Panarin answered with a power play goal to tie the contest. Then, Ryan Carpenter scored his first of the year to give the Sharks the lead back, but Artemi Panarin answered with his second of the night. Then, New York took the 3-2 lead when Mika Zibanejad scored his sixth of the year. In the second, San Jose tied it up when Jacob MacDonald scored his fourth of the year on the power play but then New York re-took the lead with Will Cuylle’s fourth of the year. In the third, Artemi Panarin completed the hat trick to put the Blueshirts up two and then K’Andre Miller netted his fourth of the year to put the Rangers up 6-3. Then, San Jose got a pair when Fabian Zetterlund scored his seventh and then Alexander Barbanov got his first of the year. However, the San Jose comeback fell short as the Rangers escaped with the 6-5 win over the Sharks.

    • In Beantown, the Bruins welcomed the Blue Jackets back to Boston and after a scoreless first, Boone Jenner scored his 13th of the year to put Columbus up 1-0. In the third, Brad Marchand got his first career natural hat trick as the Bruins came back to defeat the Blue Jackets 3-1.

    Nashville Predators v. Buffalo Sabres – 7p ET

    • In Western New York, the Predators made their annual visit to Buffalo to take on the Sabres and in the first, Nashville took the 1-0 lead when Filip Forsberg scored his 13th of the year and then Yakov Trenin got his fifth of the year to put the Preds up two. Then in the second, Buffalo got on the board with a successful penalty shot from Victor Olofsson. After a scoreless third, the Predators held on to down the Sabres for the 2-1 win.

    Colorado Avalanche v. Los Angeles Kings – 8p ET

    • In the City of Angels, the Kings hosted the Avalanche and in the first Colorado took the 1-0 lead when Josh Manson scored his first of the year. In the second, Quinton Byfield scored his fifth of the year to even the score for the Kings. In the third, Quinton Byfield scored his second of the night to put Los Angeles up 2-1 and then Trevor Moore scored his 12th of the year to give the Kings the 3-1 lead. Then, Drew Doughty closes the contest with an empty net goal, his fifth goal of the year, as the Kings score four answered to defeat the Avalanche 4-1.

    • In Montreal for the first of our two Original Six Hockey Night in Canada matchups the Canadiens would host the Detroit Red Wings, and in the firs period Joe Veleno, Christian Fischer, and Daniel Sprong would score to give the Wings the 3-0 lead, but Justin Barron would score to get the Habs on the board with seven seconds left in the period. In the second period Joel Armia would score to get the Habs back within one, but Alex DeBrincat would score to retake the two goal lead for the Wings. then in the third period Nick Suzuki and Gustav Lindstrom would score for the Habs to tie the game at four and force overtime.       • Montembault would sign a three year deal with an AAV of $3.15 million per season.

    • The New York Rangers unveiled their new third jersey.
      • The third jersey will be worn in 10 games at home, and is a navy base with multiple red, white, and blue stripes on the sleeves and base of the jersey.
      • The jersey features the Rangers shield logo as the main crest for the jersey.
      • The sleeves and socks emulate the lights of Madison Square Garden, and the collar has a subway tile design with “BLUESHIRTS” in the center of the collar.

      • Forward Tomas Nosek re-aggravated his right foot injury and underwent surgery. Nosek is also out indefinitely.

    • The NHL Department of Player Safety announced that they have suspended New Jersey Devils defenseman Brendan Smith.
      • Smith was suspended for two games for slashing Philadelphia Flyers forward Travis Konecny on Thursday night.
      • Smith will forfeit $11,458.34 per the terms of the CBA and based on his average annual salary.

    • The NHL Department of Player Safety announced they have fined Philadelphia Flyers forward Travis Konecny.
      • Konecny was fined $5,000 for cross checking New Jersey Devils defenseman Brendan Smith on Thursday night.
      • The fine is the maximum allowed per the CBA.

    NHL 3 Stars of the Month – Kucherov Produces for Top Honors

    Today the National Hockey League has announced the Stars of the Month for the month of November 2023.

    First Star – Nikita Kucherov (RW – TB)

    • Nikita Kucherov would record nine goals and 19 assists for 28 points in 14 games for the Tampa Bay Lightning. Kucherov would produce 2.00 points per game during the month of November as he would record points in 12 of his 14 games played. Kucherov would also produce six multi-point games including an eight game point streak to end the month. He would also have a six point game on Nov. 24 against Carolina.

    Second Star – Cale Makar (D – COL)

    • Cale Makar would record four goals and 21 assists for 25 points in 14 games for the Colorado Avalanche. Makar’s 21 assists would lead the League for the month of November, and his 25 points would set a franchise record for most points by a defenseman in a calendar month. Makar would record points in 12 of his 14 games played, and he would record his 200th career assist on Nov. 18th against Dallas.

    Third Star – Quinn Hughes (D – VAN)

    • Quin Hughes would record five goals and 17 assists for 22 points in 15 games played for the Vancouver Canucks. Hughes would set a franchise record for points in a calendar month by a defenseman, and would eclipse Dennis Kearns record from March 1977. Hughes would also lead the League with 11 powerplay assists, and post a career best 11 game point streak. Quinn would become the second Hughes brother to earn Star of the Month honors this season after brother Jack of the New Jersey Devils was named First Star for October.
