Welcome to Mike’s Season Ticket Holder (STH) Xperience!
This season is my first one as a Season Ticket holder for the Washington Capitals, and in place of doing Caps Game Recaps, I’ll be sharing my experience being a STH during the 2024-25 season. Here I’ll be sharing all of the photos that I take during pregame warmups, along with any FB/IG Reels and TikToks I create at the games.
I will also be doing this for any other games I may go to, whether it’s in Hershey for the Bears, or at other NHL venues for games.

The homestand continues as the Washington Capitals host the Tampa Bay Lightning.
#Caps50Facts
After two failed attempts against the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Washington Capitals defeated the Lightning in 7 games in the 2018 Eastern Conference Final. The Capitals won the first two games, but the Lightning took the next three for the 3-2 series lead. Goaltender Braden Holtby shut out the Lightning in both games 6 and 7 to lead the Capitals to their second Stanley Cup Final appearance.

Thoughts on the Game
Another game, another loss for the Washington Capitals at home. This time against the Tampa Bay Lightning. It looked like the Capitals got the first goal, but with the successful coach’s challenge, the Lightning were able to swing the momentum their way. Plus, with the help of a horrible tripping call against Tom Wilson, where it clearly looked like a dive by Nikita Kucherov, the Lightning were able to take the lead and never look back.
However, despite the loss, Alex Ovechkin scored his 884th career NHL goal, and is now 11 goals away from passing Wayne Gretzky.

Thoughts on the Game
For the Washington capitals, this was inevitable. Going into the break the Capitals were not playing their best hockey, but they were still winning games and getting points in the standings with overtime losses. This was the second game in a row the Capitals lost in regulation, and first time since late November to lose two straight at home as well.
The Capitals didn’t look their best and the St. Louis Blues made them pay for it. And quite frankly, I’m ok with it. the Caps got standing points when they really didn’t deserve them, so these loses, I see them as a wake up call to the team. Let’s see how they turn it around on Saturday against Tampa Bay.
Also, side note, I really liked seeing the Blues in their Winter Classic jerseys. More of that please.

Thoughts on the Game
All good things must come to an end, and for the first time since November the Washington Capitals finally lost at home in regulation after a disastrous first period led to their demise against the Calgary Flames.
Logan Thompson played great in net, and you really can’t fault him for this one, and Alex Ovechkin scored again to earn his 19th 30 goal season, and brings to 12 goals away from passing Wayne Gretzky.
