    TXHT Jersey Share – An Awesome Find in the Twin Cities

    Ladies and gentlemen welcome to another edition of TXHT Jersey Share where today we take a look at the inaugural jersey for the Minnesota Wild that they wore from their debut in 2000 to the end of the 2006-07 season.

    The Wild would enter the NHL along with the Columbus Blue Jackets for the 2000-01 season making them the 29th and 30th teams to enter the NHL, and both teams would come in with unique designs to make them stand out in their debut seasons.

    For the Wild they decided to distance themselves from the past of the Minnesota North Stars, who would move to Dallas to become the Stars in the early 1990’s, by going with darker colors than what the North Stars had used. Gone was the bright lime green and in was the dark forest green for the primary color, while both tan and red would replace the yellow for the striping. The way they did the overall design for the jersey is very clean, and gives a fresh feel to the then incoming team. One really nice feature I really love about this jersey is the meshing used in the inner arms area. It brings really good breathability to the jersey, and it actually looks cool too.

    For the logo for the center crest, we get a very cool wilderness style logo in the shape of a bear (yes, it took me 20 plus years to figure that one out too lol), and it comes with a very nice touch as it has the North Star in the logo as a nod to city’s past with the North Stars.

    Overall, this is an amazing jersey, and was a really great find during my time at Twin Cities Con last year, and will be taking place again from November 3rd through 5th this year.

      • In Toronto, the Maple Leafs look to advance to the second round while the Lightning look to stay alive. In the first, Toronto takes the 1-0 lead when Morgan Rielly nets his third but Tampa Bay ties it up when Anthony Cirelli scores his third. In the second, Michael Eyssimont nets his first to put the Bolts up 2-1. In the third, Nicolas Roy scores his first to give Tampa the two goal lead but then the Leafs come within a goal when Auston Matthews scores his fourth. Alex Killorn then closes the game out with his third as the Lightning get the 4-2 win over the Maple Leafs and come within a game of tying up the series.

    • New York Rangers v. New Jersey Devils – 730p ET – Game 5
      • In New Jersey, both the Devils and the Rangers look to take the 3-2 series lead and in the first New Jersey takes the 1-0 lead when Ondrej Palat nets his second of the year. In the second, Erik Haula nets his second and then Dawson Mercer scores his first as the Devs take the 3-0 lead. In the third, Erik Haula nets his second of the game as the Devils shutout the Rangers for the 4-0 win and take the 3-2 series lead.

    • Winnipeg Jets v. Vegas Golden Knights – 10p ET – Game 5
      • In Vegas, the Golden Knights look to close out the series while Winnipeg looks to extend their season for at least one more game. In the first, Chandler Stephenson nets his third to give Vegas the 1-0 lead. In the second, Mark Stone scores his third, William Karlsson scores his fourth, and Stephenson scores his second of the night as Vegas takes the 4-0 lead. In the third, Winnipeg gets on the board when Kyle Connor scores his third of the postseason. However, the Golden Knights get the 4-1 win over the Jets and advance to the second round with the 4-1 series win.

    • The NHL announced that the Global Series will be returning the Stockholm, Sweden for the 2023-24 season, and will feature four teams.

      • The regular season games will take place between Nov. 16th and Nov. 19th with the following schedule:

      • In Boston the Bruins would look to be the first team to advance to the second round as they host the Florida Panthers, and in the first period Anthony Duclair would strike to give the Panthers the 1-0 lead. In the second period Brad Marchand would score for the B’s to tie the game at one, but Sam Bennett would score to retake the lead for the Panthers. Then in the third period Sam Reinhart would score for the Panthers, but goals from Patrice Bergeron and Taylor Hall would score to tie the game at three for the B’s to force overtime.       • In Colorado the Avalanche and Seattle Kraken would go to battle in Game 5 of their series as both teams would look to take the 3-2 series lead, and after a scoreless first period Nathan MacKinnon would score for the Avs, but goals from Morgan Geekie and Tye Kartye would give the Kraken the 2-1 lead. Then in the third period Evan Rodrigues would score for the Avs, but Yanni Gourde’s first of the playoffs would give the Kraken the 3-2 victory and the 3-2 series lead over the Avalanche.

      • Makar was suspended for one game for interference against Seattle Kraken forward Jared McCann on Monday night.

    • The City of Calgary, Province of Alberta, CSEC, and Calgary Stampede have come to an agreement in principle  on a new Event Centre.
      • Located in the Rivers District in downtown Calgary, this area will feature a suite of public amenities and public infrastructure, including a new community rink, improvements to public spaces and connections to The District, and commercial opportunities, all of which will be anchored by a new publicly-owned modern Event Centre.

      • Heading back to Carolina for Game 5, the New York Islanders look to keep their season alive as they take on the Hurricanes, and in the first period Pierre Engvall would score to give the Isles the 1-0 lead. In the second period Paul Stastny would score for the Canes, but goals from Brock Nelson and Mathew Barzal would give the Isles the 3-1 lead. In the second period Mason Marchment would score to grow the Stars lead to three. Then in the third period Ty Dellandrea would score to give the Stars the 4-0 victory over the Wild, and take the 3-2 series lead.

      • In Edmonton the Los Angeles Kings look to bounce back to retake the series lead against the Oilers, and in the first period it would be a high scoring period as Alex Iafallo and Adrian Kempe would strike for the Kings, but goals from Evander Kane, Leon Draisaitl, and Brett Kulak would give the Oilers the 3-2 lead. In the second period Eichel would net his second of the game and Keegan Kolesar would score to give the Knights the 4-1 lead.     Ladies and gentlemen welcome to another edition of TXHT Jersey Share where today we take a look at our third Reverse Retro 2.0 jersey with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

    For the 2022-23 season the Lightning would hit a home run this time around as they would bring back the Thunderstorm jersey, but this time with a color swap to it. Originally worn from the 1996-97 season through the 1998-99 season, the Lightning’s Thunderstorm jersey would be blue “skies” with black water to insinuate a thunderstorm during night over the bay. The sleeves on the original would be black with lightning running down the sleeves. The shoulders would also be grey to represent the storm clouds. It was a very intuitive jersey design, especially for the late 90’s that had plenty of crazy designs.

    Fast forwarding to this past season, the Lightning would do some changes. For one, they would make the jersey white and the water blue. The rain on the jersey would go from grey and black to grey and blue, but the sleeves and shoulders would remain black and grey respectively. The lightning on the sleeves however, would become patches instead of sublimated like before.

    Overall, this is a fun jersey for the Lightning and one that was very well received when it was unveiled. Plus the Reverse Retro battles they had with the Panthers and their Miami Vice vibe jerseys meshed really well together. All in all, a great jersey to have in the collection.
