    • Colorado Avalanche defenseman Samuel Girard announced that he has entered the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program.

    Detroit Red Wings v. Boston Bruins – 1p ET

    • In Boston the NHL would kick off it’s Black Friday action with an Original Six matchup as the Bruins would play host to the Detroit Red Wings, and in the first period JT Compher and Alex DeBrincat would score to give the Wings the 2-0 lead. In the second period Jake DeBrusk would score to get the B’s on the board and back within one, but Robby Fabbri would score to give the Wings their two goal lead back. Then in the third period Danton Heinen would score for the B’s, but it would not be enough as Dylan Larkin and David Perron would score to give the Red Wings the 5-2 victory over the Bruins.

    New York Rangers v. Philadelphia Flyers – 1p ET

    • In Philadelphia the Flyers would play host to the New York Rangers, and in the first period Mika Zibanejad and Chris Kreider would both score in the opening two minutes of the game to give the Rangers the 2-0 lead. Then in the second period Sean Couturier would score for the Flyers, but Zibanejad’s second of the game would give the Rangers the 3-1 victory over the Flyers.

    Toronto Maple Leafs v. Chicago Blackhawks – 2p ET

    • In Chicago we would be treated to another Original Six matchup as the Blackhawks would play host to the Toronto Maple Leafs, and in the first period Nick Robertson would score to get the Leafs on the board first, but Jason Dickinson would score to tie the game at one for the Blackhawks. In the second period Calle Jarnkrok and Ryan Reaves would score for the Leafs to take the 3-1 lead, but Dickinson would net his second of the game to get the Blackhawks back within one. Then in the third period Dickinson would complete the hat trick after 15 seconds into the period to send the game to overtime tied at three. In the extra frame Kevin Korchinski would score to give the Blackhawks the 4-3 overtime victory over the Maple Leafs.

    Columbus Blue Jackets v. New Jersey Devils – 3p ET

    • In New Jersey the Devils would take on the Columbus Blue Jackets, and all of the scoring would take place in the first period as Boone Jenner would open up the scoring for the Jackets. Then Alexander Holtz would strike to tie the game for the Devils, but Eric Robinson would score late in the period to give the Blue Jackets the eventual 2-1 victory over the Devils.

    Nashville Predators v. St. Louis Blues – 3p ET

    • In St. Louis it would be a high scoring affair when the Blues hosted the Nashville Predators. In the first period Filip Forsbarg, Yakov Trenin, and Luke Evangelista would score to give the Preds the 3-0 lead, but Pavel Buchnevich would score to get the Blues on the board and back within two. In the second period Robert Thomas would score for the Blues, but Evangelista and Forsberg would both net their second goals of the game and Spencer Stastney and Ryan O’Reilly would score to give the Blues the commanding 7-2 lead. Then in the third period Jake Neighbours would score for the Blues, but Kiefer Sherwood would score to give the Predators the 8-3 victory over the Blues.

    Edmonton Oilers v. Washington Capitals – 3p ET

    • In Washington the Capitals would take on the Edmonton Oilers in a Black Friday afternoon matchup, and in the first period Evander Kane would strike, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins would bat the puck out of midair to give the Oilers the 2-0 lead. Then in the second period Evan Bouchard would blast a bomb from the point and Leon Draisaitl would net a pair of goals to give the Oilers three straight powerplay goals to down the Capitals 5-0.

    Los Angeles Kings v. Anaheim Ducks – 330p ET

    • It would be a Battle of LA as the Los Angeles Kings would make the 15 minute ride over to Anaheim to take on the Ducks, and in the first period Kevin Fiala and Arthur Kaliyev would score to give the Kings the 2-0 lead. In the second period Quinton Byfield would score and Fiala would net his second of the game to give the Kings the four goal lead, but Radko Gudas would score to get the Ducks on the board. Then in the third period Alex Killorn would score his first as a Duck, but Anze Kopitar would score to give the Kings the 5-2 victory over the Ducks.

    Montreal Canadiens v. San Jose Sharks – 330p ET

    • In San Jose the Sharks would take on the Montreal Canadiens, and after a scoreless first period Mike Hoffman and William Eklund would strike first for the Sharks, but Johnathan Kovacevic would score for the Habs to get them back within one. In the third period Cole Caufield would score to tie the game at two for the Habs to send the game to overtime. Then after a scoreless extra five minutes of hockey it would be Jesse Ylonen with the shootout winner to give the Canadiens the 3-2 victory over the Sharks.

    Pittsburgh Penguins v. Buffalo Sabres – 6p ET

    • In Buffalo the Sabres would play host to the Pittsburgh Penguins, and in the first period Sidney Crosby would score to give the Pens the 1-0 lead. In the second period Lars Eller would score to grow the Pens lead to two. Then in the third period Jeff Skinner, Kyle Okposo, and Alex Tuch would score to give the Sabres the 3-2 comeback victory over the Penguins.

    New York Islanders v. Ottawa Senators – 730p ET

    • In Ottawa the New York Islanders would come to town to face the Senators, and in the first period Drake Batherson would strike first for the Sens, but Kyle Palmieri would score to tie the game at one for the Isles. In the second period Oliver Wahlstrom, Mathew Barzal, and Anders Lee would score to give the Isles the 4-1 lead, but goals from Tim Stuetzle and Batherson would get the Sens back within one. Then in the third period Simon Holmstrom would score to give the Islanders the 5-3 victory over the Senators.

    Tampa Bay Lightning v. Carolina Hurricanes – 8p ET

    • In Carolina the Hurricanes would reignite their rivalry with the Tampa Bay Lightning, and in the first period Stefan Noesen would score to give the Canes the 1-0 lead. In the second period Steven Stamkos, Nikita Kucherov, and Brayden Point would score to give the Bolts the 3-1 lead, but Michael Bunting would score to get the Canes back within one. Then in the third period Brandon Hagel and Luke Glendening would score, plus Kucherov would net his second of the game and Point would net two more to complete the hat trick to give the Lightning the 8-2 victory over the Hurricanes.

    • In Florida the Panthers would faceoff with the Winnipeg Jets, and in the first period Nino Niederreiter would score to give the Jets the 1-0 lead. Then after a scoreless second period Nikolaj Ehlers and Adam Lowry would score to give the Jets the 3-0 over the Panthers.

    • In Carolina the Hurricanes would play host to the struggling Edmonton Oilers, and in the first period Jesper Fast, Jack Drury, Teuvo Teravainen, and Seth Jarvis would score to give the Canes a commanding 4-0 lead, but Zach Hyman would score to get the Oilers on the board. In the second period Martin Necas would score to regain the four goal lead for the Canes, but Mattias Ekholm would score for the Oilers.     Winnipeg Jets v. Tampa Bay Lightning – 7p ET

    • In Tampa Bay the Lightning would look to ground the Winnipeg Jets, and in the first period Josh Morrissey and Mark Scheifele would score to give the Jets the 2-0 lead, but Steven Stamkos would score to get the Bolts back within one. In the second period Brayden Point would score to tie the game at two for the Bolts. Then after a scoreless third period Adam Lowry would net the game winner as the Jets would go on to defeat the Lightning 3-2 in overtime.

    • The NHL Department of Player Safety announced that they have fined Vancouver Canucks forward Nils Hoglander.
      • Hoglander would get fined $2,864.58 for slew-footing San Jose Sharks forward Kevin Labanc on Monday night.
      • The fine is the maximum allowed per the CBA.

    • In the PWHL Montreal would sign defender Dominika Laskova to a two year deal.
    • Montreal would also sign defender Mariah Keopple to a one year deal.

    • The NHL announced that Colorado Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar has been named the First Star of the Week.
      • Forwards William Nylander (TOR) and Sidney Crosby (PIT) would round out the rest of the Three Stars.

    • The Carolina Hurricanes announced that they have released goaltender Jaroslav Halak from his Free Agent Tryout.

    PWHL News

    • In PWHL news New York would sign defender Jaime Bourbonnais to a three year deal.

    • Montréal would announce that they have signed goaltender Elaine Chuli to a one year deal.

    • Montreal would also sign defender Kati Tabin to a two year deal.

    • Minnesota would announce that they have signed defender Maggie Flaherty to a two year deal.

    Edmonton Oilers v. Florida Panthers – 7p ET

    • In South Florida, the Oilers look to get back in the win column with their lone visit against the Panthers. In the first, Edmonton got a pair when Connor McDavid scored his fifth and then Evander Kane scored his eighth of the year. Then, Florida responded with two goals of their own to tie the game when Carter Verhaeghe scored a power play goal, his eighth goal of the year, and then Niko Mikkola scored his second of the year. In the second, Connor McDavid got his second of the night off a penalty shot to give Edmonton the 3-2 lead but then Niko Mikkola scored his second of the night to tie the game for the Panthers. Then, Kevin Stenlund scored his fifth of the year to put Florida up 4-3. In the third, Sam Bennett scored an empty net goal, his first goal on the season as the Panthers earned the 5-3 win over the Oilers.

    • In Tampa, the Lightning welcomed the Bruins back to town and in the first Tampa Bay took the 1-0 lead with Tanner Jeannot’s fourth of the year but then Boston responded with Pavel Zacha’s seventh of the year. In the second, Tampa Bay re-took the lead when Nicholas Paul scored a power play goal, his eighth of the year. In the third, Boston tied the game with David Pastrnak’s 12th of the year and then the B’s took the lead with John Beecher’s second of the year. However, Tampa tied the contest when Austin Watson notched his first tally of the year, but then Boston re-took the one goal advantage with Charlie Coyle’s sixth of the year. Then, the Bolts would tie the game with Steven Stamkos’ seventh of the year with five seconds left in the contest. In overtime, Brandon Hagel scored his ninth of the year as the Lightning got the 5-4 win over the Bruins.

    New York Rangers v. Dallas Stars – 8p ET

    • In Dallas, the Rangers made their lone visit to the Lone Star State to take on the Stars and in the first, New York took the 1-0 lead with Vincent Trocheck’s power play goal, his fifth of the year. In the second, Kaapo Kakko scored his second of the year to put the Rangers up 2-0 but then Dallas got on the board when Jamie Benn scored his fourth of the year. In the third, Joe Pavelski scored his eighth of the year to tie the contest for the Stars and then Mason Marchment scored a power play goal to put Dallas up 3-2. Then, three additional goals from Tyler Seguin, Sam Steel, and Roope Hintz put the Stars up four. Barclay Goodrow then scored his first of the year for the Blueshirts but the Stars held on as they doubled up the Rangers 6-3.

    Colorado Avalanche v. Nashville Predators – 8p ET

    • In Music City, the Predators welcomed the Avalanche back to Nashville and in the first Colorado took the 1-0 lead when Andrew Cogliano scored a shorthanded goal, his third goal of the year, but then Nashville responded when Filip Forsberg scored his eighth of the year. In the second, Nashville took the 2-1 lead with Jeremy Lauzon’s first of the year but the Avs tied the game Devon Toews notched his third of the year. Valeri Nichushkin’s power play goal, his seventh goal of the year, gave Colorado the one goal advantage. In the third, Filip Forsberg scored his second of the night to tie the game for Nashville and then Yakov Trenin scored his second of the year as the Predators downed the Avalanche 4-3.

    NHL Stars of the Week – Makar Passes His Way to Top Honors

    Today the National Hockey League announced their Three Stars of the Week for the week of November 13th through 19th.

    First Star – Cale Makar (D – COL)

    • Cale Makar would record a goal and seven assists for eight points in three games played for the Colorado Avalanche. To start off his week Makar would record a goal and an assist in a 5-1 victory over Seattle on Nov. 13th. Then on Nov. 15th he would record three assists in an 8-2 victory over Anaheim, and to close out the week Makar would record another three assist game in a 6-3 victory over Dallas on Nov. 18th.
    Cale Makar would pass his way to top honors as the National Hockey League would name him the First Star of the Week.

    Second Star – William Nylander (RW – TOR)

    • William Nylander would wow his friends and family back home in Sweden for the NHL Global Series as he would record two goals and three assists for five points in two games played for the Toronto Maple Leafs.     • Sidney Crosby would record five goals and two assists for seven points in four games played for the Pittsburgh Penguins. Top open up his week Crosby would record a hat trick and an assist in a 5-3 victory over Columbus on Nov. 14th, and then on Nov. 16th he would pick an assist in a 5-2 loss to New Jersey. On Nov. 18th Crosby would score both Pittsburgh goals in a 4-2 loss to Carolina, and to close out the week he would be held off the scoresheet in a 3-0 victory over Vegas on Nov. 19th.

    • In Stockholm, Sweden for the final game of the Global Series the Minnesota Wild and Toronto Maple Leafs would faceoff in an early morning (in North America) matchup, and in the first period Jon Merrill would net his first of the season to give the Wild the 1-0 lead, but goals from Auston Matthews and Matthew Knies would give the Leafs the 2-1 lead. Then after a scoreless second period Morgan Reilly would score to give the Leafs the 3-1 lead, but goals from Jake Middleton and Mats Zuccarello would tie the game at three for the Wild as they would force overtime. In the extra frame William Nylander would score to give the Maple Leafs the 4-3 overtime victory over the Wild.

    Columbus Blue Jackets v. Philadelphia Flyers – 530p ET

    • In Philadelphia, the Flyers welcomed the Blue Jackets to town and in the first the Flyers got on the board when Joel Farabee scores his seventh of the year but then Columbus tied it up with Alexandre Texier’s fourth of the year. In the second, Bobby Brink’s power play goal, his fourth goal of the season, gave Philadelphia the lead back and then Ryan Poehling’s shorthanded goal put the Flyers up two. Columbus then got with a goal when he scored his eighth of the season. In the third, Travis Konecny scored his 11th of the year and then Cam York scored his second of the year on an empty netter as the Flyers defeated the Blue Jackets 5-2.

    Vegas Golden Knights v. Pittsburgh Penguins – 6p ET

    • In the Steel City, the Penguins welcomed the Golden Knights for the lone time on the season and in the first Ryan Graves scored his first to put Pittsburgh up 1-0. In the second, Noel Acciari scored his first to give the Pens the 2-0 lead. In the third, Evgeni Malkin scored his ninth of the year on an empty netter as the Penguins went on to shut out the Golden Knights 3-0.

    Buffalo Sabres v. Chicago Blackhawks – 7p ET

    • In the Windy City, the Blackhawks welcomed the Sabres for the only time this season and in the first Buffalo took the 1-0 lead with Rasmus Dahlin’s fourth of the year. In the second, Chicago got on the board with Taylor Raddysh’s third of the year but then Jeff Skinner’s power play goal, his eighth of the season gave Buffalo the one goal lead back.     St. Louis Blues v. Anaheim Ducks – 8p ET

    • In Anaheim, the Ducks looked to leave St. Louis looking a little Blue. In the first, St. Louis got a pair when Jake Neighbours and Pavel Buchnevich each scored. In the second, St. Louis tooko the three goal lead with Alexey Toropchenko’s third of the year but then the Ducks got on the board when Mason McTavish scored his eighth of the season.     • The Boston Bruins announced that forward Milan Lucic will be taking an indefinite leave of absence from the team.
      • Lucic was arrested Saturday morning for an alleged domestic incident that took place on Friday night.

    • Back in Stockholm, Sweden for a morning (in North America) matinee between the Minnesota Wild and Ottawa Senators, and after a scoreless first period Marco Rossi would strike to give the Wild the 1-0 lead. Then in the third period Erik Brannstrom would net his first of the season to tie the game at one for the Sens to force overtime.     • In Nashville the Predators would play host to the Chicago Blackhawks, and in the first period Yakov Trenin and Gustav Nyquist would score to give the Preds the 2-0 lead. In the second period Philipp Kurashev would score for the Blackhawks to get them back within one, but Cole Smith would score to give the Preds their two goal lead back. Then in the third period Tyler Johnson would score for the Blackhawks, but Smith’s second goal of the game would give the Predators the 4-2 victory over the Blackhawks.

    • In Tampa Bay for an afternoon battle the Lightning would host the Edmonton Oilers, and in the first period Derek Ryan and James Hamblin would score for the Oilers to take the 2-0 lead, but Nikita Kucherov would score to get the Bolts on the board and back within one. In the second period Kucherov would net his second of the game to tie the game at two for the Bolts, but Ryan would also score his second of the game to give the Oilers the 3-2 lead.     • In Boston for an Original Six matchup the Bruins would pay tribute to their history as they host the Montreal Canadiens, and in the first period Charlie McAvoy and Trent Frederic would score to give the B’s the 2-0 lead. In the second period Juraj Slafkovsky would score for the Habs, but goals from Pavel Zacha and Frederic would give the B’s the 4-1 lead. Then in the third period Johnathan Kovacevic would score for the Habs, but a goal from James van Riemsdyk would give the Bruins the 5-2 victory over the Canadiens.

    • In Calgary the Flames would host the New York Islanders for Hockey Night in Canada, and in the first period Martin Pospisil would strike first for the Flames while Hudson Fasching would score for the Isles for the 1-1 tie. In the second period Kyle Palmieri and Mathew Barzal would score for the Isles to take the 3-1 lead, but Blake Coleman would score to get the Flames back within one. Then in the third period Brock Nelson would score for the Isles, but goals from MacKenzie Weager and Yegor Sharangovich would tie the game at four for the Flames to send the game to overtime. After a scoreless extra five minutes of hockey it would be Oliver Wahlstrom in the shootout to give the Islanders the 5-4 victory over the Flames.

    New York Rangers v. New Jersey Devils – 7p ET

    • In New Jersey the Devils would go to battle against their long time rival New York Rangers, and in the first period both teams would get a pair of goals as Artemi Panarin and Jimmy Vesey would score for the Rangers while Jack Hughes and Ondrej Palat would strike for the Devils for the 2-2 tie. Then after a scoreless second period Erik Haula would score fro the Devils, but goals from Panarin, Vesey, and Blake Wheeler would give the Rangers the 5-2 victory over the Devils.

    Arizona Coyotes v. Winnipeg Jets – 7p ET

    • In Winnipeg the Jets would take on the Arizona Coyotes, and in the first period Matias Maccelli would open the scoring for the Yotes, but goals from Mark Scheifele and vladislav Namestnikov would give the Jets the 2-1 lead. In the second period Matt Dumba would strike for the Yotes to tie the game, but Kyle Connor would score to retake the lead for the Jets. then in the third period Josh Morrissey and Mason Appleton would score to give the Jets the 5-2 victory over the Coyotes.

    • In Stockholm, Sweden for the first game of the Global Series the Ottawa Senators would play host to the Detroit Red Wings, and in the first period Brady Tkachuk would net a pair of goals and Jake Sanderson would score to give the Sens the 3-0 lead.     • In Columbus, the Blue Jackets hosted the Coyotes and after a scoreless first, Columbus got on the board with Damon Severson’s second of the year but Arizona’s Barrett Hayton responded with his second of the year. In the third, Logan Cooley’s second of the year put the Coyotes up 2-1 and then Lawson Crouse netted his seventh of the year to give Arizona the two goal lead. Then, Damon Severson scored his second of the night but the Coyotes would hold on to get the 3-2 win over the Blue Jackets.

    • In Montreal, the Canadiens welcomed the Golden Knights for the lone time on the year and in the first Montreal got a pair when Alex Newhook scored his fourth of the year and Johnathan Kovacevic scored his first of the year. In the second, Vegas got on the board with a shorthanded goal form Brett Howden but Montreal re-took the two goal lead with Jesse Ylönen’s second of the season. Then, the Golden Knights got a pair when Brayden McNabb, scoring his first of the year, and Jonathan Marchessault, scoring his seventh, to tie the contest. Then, Jesse Ylönen scored his second of the night to give the Habs the lead back but then Shea Theodore’s power play goal. his fourth goal of the year, tied the contest once more. In the third, Jack Eichel and Mark Stone each score a power play goal, their seventh and fifth goals respectively, to give Vegas the two goal lead but Justin Barron scored his fourth of the year for Montreal. However, the Golden Knights held on to defeat the Canadiens for the 6-5 win.

    New Jersey Devils v. Pittsburgh Penguins – 7p ET

    • In the Steel City, the Penguins and Devils faced off. In the first, Bryan Rust scored his eighth of the year to put Pittsburgh up 1-0 but then a power play goal from Curtis Lazar tied the game. In the second, Bryan Rust scored his second of the night to give the Pens the lead back but Nathan Bastian scored his first of the year to tie the contest. In the third, Jesper Bratt scored his eighth to give the Devils the 3-2 lead and then Alexander Holtz scored his fourth to put New Jersey up two. Then, Tyler Toffoli scored his ninth of the year as the Devils breezed by the Penguins for the 5-2 win.

    Tampa Bay Lightning v. Chicago Blackhawks – 8p ET

    • In the Windy City, the Blackhawks welcomed the Lightning back to Chicago and in the first Lukas Reichel opened up the scoring to put the ‘Hawks up 1-0. In the second, Brayden Point scored a power play goal, his seventh goal of the year, and then Mikhail Sergachev scored his first of the year to put Tampa Bay up 2-1. In the third, Corey Perry’s fourth of the year tied up the contest but then Victor Hedman scored his fourth of the year to give Tampa Bay the lead back. Then, Brandon Hagel scored an empty net goal, his eighth goal of the year, as the Lightning went on to defeat the Blackhawks 4-2.
