TXHT Jersey Share – Quack Attack

TXHT Jersey Share takes on the Quack Attack!!

    D5 Ducks Front

Don’t lie. You know this is cool. We all grew up watch the Mighty Ducks movies as kids and this was the first real Ducks jersey we ever saw because when the first movie came out the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim didn’t exist yet.

    D5 Ducks Back

This jersey after a lot of searching I found on Mad Bros, and was greatly surprised by the selection they had on their website. Not only did they have the D5 Ducks jerseys, but also jerseys from SlapShot, Mystery Alaska, and at one point Miracle. The people at Mad Bros did a great job, and everything is handstitched. I’ve worn it in many games in games that I have played in and it has stood up to the rigors of playing. Definitely recommended to go to Mad Bros if you’re interested in getting a D5 Ducks jersey.

  • TXHT Jersey Share – Olie the All Star

TXHT Jersey Share – Olie the All Star

Ladies and Gentlemen the TXHT Jersey Share series is going international once again, this time with Washington Capitals legend Olaf Kolzig’s 1998 World All Star jersey.

Kolzig World AS White 1998 Front

So for those who didn’t know the NHL went with a World versus North America format for the 1998 All Star Game in celebration of the first time the NHL was sending the players to the Olympics (which was a couple weeks after the All Star Break and was a total disaster), and it actually featured these really cool jerseys.

Kolzig World AS White 1998 Back

For the front of the jerseys it would be the NHL crest along with the respective country flag that player is from (or represents). For Kolzig it would be Germany for whom he has citizenship with and was representing at the Olympics shortly after the All Star Break. On the shoulders would be the 1998 All Star patch and the Capitals logo. The White jersey with Navy and Silver blends real smoothly, and makes for a nice design for a jersey.

  • TXHT Jersey Share – The Mighty Duck

TXHT Jersey Share – The Mighty Duck

Today in TXHT Jersey Share we will be taking a look at the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim’s original jersey from their beginning years in the NHL.

    Mighty Ducks Away Purple 1996.jpg

This is a really cool jersey as it was one of the first jerseys to really shake things up on how jerseys are designed. Plus the color scheme that was used is very unique and one that is missed to this day (sorry Anaheim, but you screwed the pooch with your 25th Anniversary jersey). Once again like with the San Jose Sharks jersey, this was one that I had a as kid, and replaced once it became available again. Definitely a cool jersey.

  • TXHT Jersey Share – The Kachina

TXHT Jersey Share – The Kachina

Today in TXHT Jersey Share we look at possibly one of the greatest jerseys in NHL history, the Phoenix Coyotes Kachina jersey.

    Coyotes Kachina 1996.jpg

This is such a cool jersey in my humble opinion. When the original Winnipeg Jets moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1996 the new team owners spoke with and consulted with Native Americans in the area to create their logo and uniforms and created what is known as the Kachina. It is hands down one of the most beautiful jerseys made, and are now back again as the Arizona Coyotes alternate jersey. When they brought it back for their 20th Anniversary I picked one up from the NHL website because it was definitely worth the pick up.

  • TXHT Jersey Share – Heritage from the Shark Tank

TXHT Jersey Share – Heritage from the Shark Tank

In another edition the TXHT Jersey Share series we’re keeping it old school as we continue to look at retro jerseys in the NHL, and today we have the San Jose Sharks heritage jersey.

    Sharks Heritage 2016.jpg

So fun fact, this is a jersey I had as a child as my dad got it for me when the Sharks first came into the NHL. However, I don’t have the original anymore due to me out growing it years ago, but thanks to the Sharks bringing back the look as a Heritage jersey for the 2015-16 season I was able to get a new one. Just like back in the early 1990’s it still looks great, and is a really great jersey. Honestly I don’t know why they didn’t use this jersey as their alternates now instead of that horrible blackout jersey they have currently.

  • TXHT Jersey Share – A Hard Find

TXHT Jersey Share – A Hard Find

Some times a jersey is really hard to find, and this one was until recently. Today the TXHT Jersey Share series takes a look at the 1996 West All Star Jersey.

    West All Star 1996.jpg

So I’ll fight anyone and everyone on this one, but the All Star jerseys used from 1994 to 1997 were hands down the best uniforms ever worn, and I have been trying to find both the West and East jerseys. Recently I was able to find the West, but the East still eludes me. Now while these jerseys are being labelled as from 1996, that is because I plan to get this jersey customized to Wayne Gretzky for 1996 which will include the 1996 Boston All Star patch and the old Los Angeles Kings logo patch on the shoulders. Once I get the East I plan to have it customized to Peter Bondra also with the 1996 Boston All Star patch and the old Washington Capitals logo patch on the shoulders.

Also fun fact, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this jersey design is what inspired the Dallas Stars alternates, then eventual home and road uniforms, that they wore in the late 1990’s and early 200’s, and also wore when they won the Stanley Cup in 1999.

  • TXHT Jersey Share – Going to Hollywood

TXHT Jersey Share – Going to Hollywood

TXHT Jersey Share is going on a road trip to sunny Hollywood for a look at this beautiful Los Angeles Kings jersey.

    Kings Home Black 2016 Front.jpg

So funny story about this one. I actually was in Los Angeles during the summer of 2016 for a convention, and I flew into Los Angeles a couple days early so I could explore as much as I could with my friend Brian before the convention started. One of those places we visited was the Sataples Center and when we got to the team store all they had for Kings jerseys were XXL so obviously a jersey wasn’t in order, but I did get that years draft hat so I can atleast say I got something from the Staples Center. However, no matter where I went around town I would not be able to find a Kings jersey either in my sizer, or to my liking. So I bought a Los Angeles Dodgers jersey instead. *laughs*

    Kings Home Black 2016 Back

Though through great luck and fortune our friends at Cool Hockey were having a sale to clean out their their stock of Reebok jerseys to make way for the new Adidas jerseys, and I was able to finally secure my Kings jersey. Also through Cool Hockey I was able to get the back customized with my name and number, plus the NHL 100 Patch on the sleeve. Overall a quality jersey and great job by the people at Cool Hockey for making it possible to get this one in my collection.

  • TXHT Jersey Share – No Contact

TXHT Jersey Share – No Contact

Everybody today we ask that we keep the contact to a minimum as the TXHT Jersey Share series dons the Washington Capitals former No Contact jersey.

    Capitals Practice Orange 2016.jpg

This was a really cool jersey to get at the Capitals Fan Fest a few years ago. I was looking for an official Capitals practice jersey I could wear during stick and shoot sessions, and when I was at one of the Capitals Fan Fests they had this jersey on the rack at a reasonable price. For those who didn’t know the orange practice jersey for the Capitals was actually their No Contact jersey for all team practices. After a few seasons they changed the color to I believe a powder blue, but can’t really remember off the top of my head. It’s a really cool jersey, and I think I look good wearing it, though you can decide on that.

  • TXHT Jersey Share – Going Retro

TXHT Jersey Share – Going Retro

Ladies and Gentlemen it is time for another edition of TXHT Jersey Share. Today we have the reincarnation of the Washington Capitals old red, white, and blues being brought back for this generation.

    Capitals Alternate Red 2015.jpg

As  talked about with other Capitals jerseys in this series, this is another retro design that was brought back to and works very well with both the Reebok and Adidas designs, even so that this look is currently used by the Capitals as their current alternate jersey as recently as the 2018-19 season and is planned to be utilized again in 2019-20.
