  • TXHT Jersey Share – The Story Behind the Number 75

TXHT Jersey Share – The Story Behind the Number 75

Ladies and Gentlemen we are back with another edition of TXHT Jersey Share as we continue looking at Michael’s Churchill jerseys.

    Churchill Navy Front

Now despite the things I said yesterday about not having the most fun of times with Churchill, it did allow me to do something I had wanted to do and that was change my jersey number from my typical 12, 10, or 16 to the number 75 and Churchill allowed me to do that. Now way the number 75 you ask? Here’s why…

    Churchill Navy Back

The number 75 is the age of how old my grandfather was when he passed away in June 2000. I wear the number 75 out of respect to him. My grandfather was Sgt. Major Lesser Lindenbaum who fought in both World War 2 and the Korean War. He was also someone that I was very close to, and wish I got to spend more time with. When he passed away it devastated me, and playing hockey helped me get through the pain of losing him. Also when he passed away that was when I decided to change my number officially to 75.

NWHL News and Notes – August 12th, 2019

Today in the NWHL there were a variety of announcements made today.

Starting off with a special Sponsor announcement as the NWHL has finalized a sponsorship agreement with The Original Chipwich®.

    IMG_20190812_100048

Chipwich will sponsor select intermission activities, receive a significant amount of promotion via social media, and will have additional activations. Revenue from the partnership agreement with Chipwich will be split in half with NWHL players, which will result in additional income in addition to their current salaries for playing.

Then the Metropolitan Riveters announced that Ivo Mocek has been named the new head coach heading into the 2019-20 season.

    IMG_20190812_113021.jpg

Mocek, a native of the Czech Republic, spent the bulk of his pro playing career in the Czech Republic, but has been growing as a coach the last 8 years in the New York area. This will mark his first season as a head coach in the NWHL.

However the Riveters would not be done tbere as they also announced that they have signed 2018 NWHL Sixth Overall Draft Pick Kendall Cornine for the 2019-20 season.

    IMG_20190812_122302.jpg

Cornine, a New Jersey native, was a standout player for Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) where she would record 38 goals and 26 assists for 68 points in 140 games.

All players will partake in the 50 percent cut of revenue from league sponsorship and media deals. Plus they will also receive 15 percent of revenue from apparel sold with their name on it.

TXHT will continue to provide NWHL coverage as more signings are announced.

  • TXHT Jersey Share – High School Days

TXHT Jersey Share – High School Days

Ladies and Gentlemen, TXHT Jersey Share is now going to get deep with the jerseys and their meanings for having them, and we start that off today with my first Churchill High School jersey.

    Churchill White Front.jpg

So for Churchill, they were the first real team I played on outside of the Skate Frederick house league, and it was a shock to know that I was originally cut as a forward only to be brought back as a goaltender, though I never played nor dressed for an actual game during my sophmore year with the team.

    Churchill White Back.jpg

Now when I got to my senior year of high school I did get into a couple games but more in spot relief which was really lame. I mean I played two minutes in the JV State Championship, didn’t face a shot, then was pulled to only have our starting goalie give up the 6th goal of th game. Yea, wasn’t fun times for me with Churchill.

TXHT Jersey Share – Finally Champions!

Today in the TXHT Jersey Share series we celebrate the Washington Capitals 2018 Stanley Cup Championship.

    Capitals Away White 2018.jpg

Finally after so much torture as a Capitals fan it was with great joy when the Washington Capitals won the Stanley Cup in 2018. For what I originally wanted to was  get the Capitals road jersey with the Finals patch on it, and then have the home jersey with the Champions patch on it. Obviously I switched it due to jersey availability, and also it made a better concept to go with the Capitals home with the Finals patch as they played two games at home, and then the Champions patch on the road jersey because they won the Stanley Cup on the road in Vegas.

  • TXHT Jersey Share – From the Rising Sun

TXHT Jersey Share – From the Rising Sun

Today in TXHT Jersey Share we take a look at another quality Women’s Hockey jersey from the NWHL’s inaugural season.

    Riveters Inaugural 2015 Front.jpg

So for those who don’t follow the NWHL, which you should by the way, in the first two seasons of the league the Riveters were known as the New York Riveters before they did their partnership with the New Jersey Devils going into the 2017-18 season when they would change New York to Metropolitan.

    Riveters Inaugural 2015 Back

For my second NWHL jersey I chose Nana Fujimoto of the Riveters because I thought it was really cool to have Fujimoto in the league as the first professional Japanese Women’s Hockey player. Also the overall design of the first Riveters jersey is very different and very innovative at the same time.

  • TXHT Jersey Share – 20 Years for a Second Chance

TXHT Jersey Share – 20 Years for a Second Chance

Today in TXHT Jersey Share we take our second look at the Adidas AdiZero line this time with the Washington Capitals home jersey, and with a little help from our friends at Cool Hockey, we got it prepared for the opportunity of a lifetime.

    Capitals Home Red 2018 Front.jpg

I’m not going to lie, but the Adidas jerseys are really nice and probably have the best quality out of all the jerseys I’ve gotten my hands on. The fabric is one of the best I’ve ever felt for a hockey jersey, and I have quite a few authentic jerseys including a game worn jersey.

    Capitals Home Red 2018 Back

Obviously there is no distinct changes between the Reebok version and the Adidas version for the Capitals home and road jerseys. One of the best features though is thanks to Cool Hockey, and that is the 2018 Stanley Cup Finals patch. It had been 20 years since the last time the Capitals made it to the Finals, and to have this moment was special for me and I had to get the patch on the jersey to commerate the moment.

Today in the NWHL the Buffalo Beauts announced that they have re-signed a fan favorite.

Goaltender Kelsey Neumann will be returning to the Beauts after a season away from the team.

    Neumann_TW_large.jpg

Neumann, who last played for the Beauts during the 2017-18 season, is returning after a season away from the league. This will be Neumann’s thrid season with the Beauts and in the NWHL.

Both Beauts and Women’s Hockey fans will get to enjoy Neumann’s crazy antics for a whole new season, and all starting with her contract signing today.

TXHT Jersey Share – Browncoats Unite!

Ladies and Gentlemen it’s time to go on an adventure with the crew of the Serenity as we take a look at this awesome Browncoats jersey by Geeky Jerseys.

    Browncoats Geeky Front.jpg

The show Firefly when it aired in the early 2000’s was poorly mishandled by Fox and was cancelled after one season. However, thanks to DVD sales popularity for the Joss Whedon show picked up a cult following that lives on to this day.

    Browncoats Geeky Back

For this Browncoats jersey I really like the emblem for the center crest, and how they made the colors pop to make this an awesome jersey to have. Also the shoulder patches and the logo on the back of the neck are really cool and help add to the overall look of the jersey.
