News:
- Buffalo Sabres announced that forward Vladimir Sobotka underwent successful knee surgery, and will be out indefinitely.
- The Sabres also announced the defenseman Rasmus Dahlin will be out indefinitely due to a concussion.
- The Boston Bruins announced they have signed forward Charlie Coyle to a six year contract with an AAV of $5.25 million.
Game Recaps:
Calgary Flames v. Buffalo Sabres – 7p EST Start Time
In Buffalo the Sabres take on the Calgary Flames, and in the first period TJ Brodie would strike for the Flames to take the 1-0 lead. Then in the second period Jimmy Vesey would strike while shorthanded to tie the game at one for the Sabres. In the third period Victor Olofsson would score his ninth of the season for the Sabres, but Matthew Tkachuk would tie the game at two to send the game to overtime. Then in the extra frame Elias Lindholm would strike for the Flames to take the 3-2 victory.
Boston Bruins v. Ottawa Senators – 7p EST Start Time
In Ottawa the Senators would play host to the Boston Bruins, and after a scoreless 40 minutes the game would heat up in the third period. Thomas Chabot would score 41 seconds into the third for the Senators, but the Bruins would strike with goals from Brad Marchand and Zdeno Chara to take the 2-1 victory.
Toronto Maple Leafs v. Detroit Red Wings – 7p EST Start Time
In Detroit the Toronto Maple Leafs would ground the Red Wings. In the first period the Leafs would get goals from Travis Dermott, Tyson Barrie, and John Tavares to take the 3-0 lead. Then in the second period William Nylander would score, and Andreas Johnsson would score a pair of goals to give the Leafs the 6-0 victory over the Red Wings.
St. Louis Blues v. Tampa Bay Lightning – 7p EST Start Time
In Tampa Bay the Lightning would play host to the St. Louis Blues. After a scoreless first period the Lightning would strike first in the second period as Nikita Kucherov would score his ninth of the season, but Oskar Sundqvist would score back to back goals to give the Blues the 2-1 lead. However, Anthony Cirelli would score to tie the game at two. Then in the third period Zach Sanford and Brayden Schenn (PPG) would score to give the Blues the 4-2 lead, but Brayden Point would strike on the powerplay to cut the deficit to one. however, the Blues would hold on for the 4-3 victory.
Carolina Hurricanes v. New York Rangers – 7p EST Start Time
At Madison Square Garden the New York Rangers would explode for a three goal first period as Mika Zibanejad (PPG), Brendan Smith, and Adam Fox would score to give the Rangers the 3-0 lead. then in the second period the Carolina Hurricanes would get goals from Ryan Dzingel (PPG) and Warren Foegele, but it would not be enough as the Rangers would hold on to defeat the Hurricanes 3-2.
Vancouver Canucks v. Pittsburgh Penguins – 7p EST Start Time
In Pittsburgh we would be treated to a goal fest between the Penguins and Vancouver Canucks. In the first period Jake Guentzel and Bryan Rust (PPG) would strike for the Penguins, but JT Miller would score for the Canucks to cut the Penguins lead to one. Then in the second period the Canucks would get goals from Elias Pettersson, Jake Virtanen, and Andrew Gaudette to take a 4-2 lead in the second intermission. Then in the third period Miller and Gaudette would both score their second of the game for the Canucks, but the Penguins would explode with six goals as they would get two goals from Evgeni Malkin, Guentzel would score his second of the game, and Dominik Kahun, Zach Aston-Reese, and Kris Letang would all score to give the Penguins the 8-6 victory.
Florida Panthers v. Washington Capitals – 7p EST Start Time
The Washington Capitals hold on to defeat the Florida Panthers 4-3 on Thanksgiving Eve. TXHT Recap
Philadelphia Flyers v. Columbus Blue Jackets – 7p EST Start Time
In Columbus the Blue Jackets would host the Philadelphia Flyers, and in the first period the Jackets would strike first with a Nick Foligno tally, but Tyler Pitlick would tie the game for the Flyers. However, Seth Jones would strike late in the first to give the Jackets the 2-1 lead. Then in the second period the Flyers would strike with goals from Scott Laughton and Claude Giroux (PPG) to lead the Flyers to the 3-2 victory.
Vegas Golden Knights v. Nashville Predators – 8p EST Start Time
In Nashville the Vegas Golden Knights would get the jump on the Predators as Mark Stone would strike in the first period and Reilly Smith would tally in the second period to give the Knights the 2-0 lead, however, the Predators would strike with goals from Mikael Granlund and Ryan Ellis to tie the game at two. Then in the third period Matt Duchene would score to give the Predators the 3-2 lead, but with one second left in regulation Max Pacioretty would score to tie the game at three. Then in overtime Paul Stastny would score to give the Knights the 4-3 overtime victory.
Anaheim Ducks v. Arizona Coyotes – 930p EST Start Time
In Arizona the Coyotes would get the first goal against the Anaheim Ducks as Christian Dvorak would strike on the powerplay for the 1-0 lead, but Brendan Guhle would tie the game at one only to have Dvorak score his second of the game to retake the lead for the Coyotes. Then in the second period Sam Steel would score for the Ducks to tie the game at two. Then in the third period Troy Terry would score to give the Ducks the lead, but 38 seconds later Alex Goligoski would score to tie the game at three and send the game to overtime. Then after a scoreless extra frame the shootout would be required, and it would be Christian Dvorak with the winner to give the Coyotes the 4-3 victory.
Edmonton Oilers v. Colorado Avalanche – 10p EST Start Time
In Colorado the Edmonton Oilers would strike first against the Avalanche as Jujhar Khaira would get on the board to give the Oilers the 1-0 lead in the first period. Then in the second period the Avalanche would tie the game at one as Nazem Kadri would score his eighth of the season. then in the third period the Avalanche would score three more goals as Matt Nieto, Nathan MacKinnon, and Logan O’Connor would all score to give the Avalanche the 4-1 victory.
New York Islanders v. Los Angeles Kings – 1030p EST Start Time
In Los Angeles the New York Islanders would strike first against the Kings as Derick Brassard would score to give the Islanders the 1-0 lead, but Dustin Brown would tie the game at one a little over a minute later. Then in the second period Jeff Carter would score on the powerplay to give the Kings the 2-1 lead, and in the third period Matt Roy would net his second of the season to grow the Kings lead to two and then Alex Iafallo would score his fifth of the season to give the Kings the 4-1 victory over the Islanders.
Winnipeg Jets v. San Jose Sharks – 1030p EST Start Time
In San Jose the Sharks would take on the Winnipeg Jets and the Sharks would tally with a Melker Karlsson to take the 1-0 lead, but the Jets would respond with a Patrik Laine powerplay goal and David Gustafsson’s first of the season to take the 2-1 lead into the first intermission. Then in the second period Mark Scheifele and Jack Roslovic would tally to grow the Jets lead to three, and in the third period Kyle Connor would score his ninth of the season to give the Jets the 5-1 victory over the Sharks.
